help me duplicate fast point bug please

Recommended Posts

Can anybody duplicate this bug ?

Start a new file.

Create line endpoint.

(system asks for first point) type "0,0,1"

(system asks for second point) type "0,0,0"

My computer gives a line from 0,0,1 to 1,0,0. I am thinking the line should be straight along the Z axis.

The guys at QC can't duplicate this. I am wondering what it is about my configuration (on all of our computers) that is causing this. The only common thing I can think of is AMD processors ? headscratch.gif

If I use the power key "O" instead of 0,0,0 the line comes out where it should...

ok I'll bite what is Topsolid?

Jay, it's Parametric Design, Cam, Mold, and Electrode software.

Due to our current workload, nobody in the shop is fully trained on it but it does some really amazing stuff. About 50% of the times I find myself wishing for something Mastercam won't / can't do, I am able to parasolid out, make some changes, and bring back to Mastercam. It has saved me tons of time so far in spite of the fact I'm not using it enough to justify it's cost yet.

Favorite feature... Import a "dumb" parasolid and start editing it *ALMOST* as if it had a "history"... I can rip out fillets, remove holes, ribs, etc and keep it as a valid closed solid.

I call upon Topsolid as much as Moldplus. Both awesome tools.

Matt,

What if you type X0Y0Z1. and X0Y0Z0 instead of relying on the commas to define the axis?

You said that you're in the top plane/WCS/TC Plane. Do you have the config setting checked to make GView=CPlane and you're GView is set to another plane?

Just throwing things out there. smile.gif

x0y0z1

x0y0z0

gives the same bad result.

I have the "update c plane and t plane when changing g-view" AND "reset c plane to top in iso g-view" checked.

I get the same bad result in top g-view. I get a similar bad result in front view/plane (just rotated to front plane... same bug new plane)

Also just tried unchecking "update c plane and t plane when changing g-view" AND "reset c plane to top in iso g-view" and got the same bad result.

Keep on throwin' and I'll keep tryin' !
