I wouldn't be jumping for joy over this.

 

Remember being innocent until being proven guilty?

 

Like all successful businessmen, Gene Haas has his enemies.

It's very possible that he is simply being thrown under the bus by the guilty parties and then telling the FBI what they want to hear.

The news does say he was bitter toward a gov judge who found against him in a patent lawsuit.

 

I hope more info comes out soon.

Typically you don't get popped for witness intimidation unless they have you by the nuts...we'll see. I don't think you arrest somebody who owns a $500 MILLION company on a whim

When we bought our VF-OE back in 2002 , we got a free trip to tour the Haas facility. Impressive doesn't seem to describe it well enough. Anyway , that night Gene took us all out to dinner and a drink or 12 . Super nice guy !!

Granted there are better machines out there, but you don't need a $200,000 Mori to do everything. That's kind of like buying a BMW to deliver pizzas. Alot of people have made a living working on machines he has made.

Agreed - I shouldn't have to pay more taxes just because some rich a**hole found away around paying his.

 

We use his machines here (milling), so I hope nothing happens to the company.

Unfortunately, Haas Automation is probably all done as a company.

Despite the protests of Bob Murray, the real world won't let the company just continue unaffected.

 

ANY company of that size depends on a relationship with banks for operating capital.

 

No banker in is his right mind is going to be willing to go near Haas Automation right now.

The possibility of being tainted or investigated is too great a risk.

 

Keep in mind that Uncle Sam is probably going to seize a good portion of the assests of the company.

All exports will be gone over with a fine-tooth comb.

The Chinese will probably seize the assets of the Haas China units.

 

It's not a good day to be a Haas employee or customer.

don't be so sure they can go into receivership and it can be sold to someone else without the liabilities. This will save the companies and the jobs for the lesser of the 2 evils. (just closing up) the suppliers get screwed(unsecured creditors). I have been screwed, so I know this firsthand.

Any new news on old Gene? We didn't here much about it on the east coast. We were poised to buy two new MDC 500's and now my boss is not sure he wants to buy from Haas. They are concerned we would buy a product from a company that might go out of business.

You can bet that the D&B rating has changed overnight.

 

At the very least, Gene Haas will probably lose his company and quite possibly his freedom.

It's doubtful he'll be released anytime soon.

Intimidation of a Federal Agent is a very serious allegation.

It appears almost everyone involved has already rolled over.
