I am running windows 2000 and x2. I am trying to bring in a solidworks 2007 file and I am getting the cannot find parasolid data in file. I tried to unregister and reregister dll file. Dos does not reconize regsvr32 command. I also tried using the utility to no avail. I came across someone else running 2000 and he said it would not work for him either. Are there any fixes or do I need to upgrade to xp or vista. Thanks for your help.

Is mastercam still not able to read a native solidworks file. Where I am designing / programming in my spare time here are using surfcam, all though I do not have MC and surfcam in the same catagory it reads and updates fully as solidworks model changes so that you do not have to re-export a parasolid each time you change the model, it also reads whole assemblies in. It maintians associativity very well.

Monty,

You cant open SolidWorks2004 "parasolid" files or SolidWorks2004 "part" files? Are we talking .X_T or .SLDPRT?

I did see a bug logged here recently that came through Bob Hill and we can't read it because it's surface data. The software provided to us by SolidWorks to access data in their part files (SWDocumentMgr.Dll) does not provide a mechanism for handling surfaces. That's all that are in these files.

If you have access to SolidWorks itself, the MastercamDirect addin will bring the surfaces over. Let me know if you get a chance to try that.
