I am going to be learning Mastercam after using Autodesk Autocad. What would be my best bet to learning the program. I have ordered a book called "Learning mastercam x mill" The review scorw was 4points out of 5. Any other suggestions out there? Also how much different is x2 from x?

Hopefully you have some programmers in house that can help you learn. I had a really good person to learn from at our company, (plug for him in case he's reading this.) A book and this forum our a good reference but you could look at the MC training course they offer to get certified or a local tech college.

I came over from AutoCad and Inventor and picked it up pretty quickly. There are a lot of strange things to get used to when drawing with curves and things in MC compared to AutoCAD. But you will get it.

Funny, I always thought the way AC did things was funny.

thanks for all the replys, I ordered my book from barnes and noble, its a 600 page book that comes with the student version of mastercam x. Apparently you can do everything on the software except save files. The book is like $55. i have a guy who i am sitting with who has been using MC for about 1.5 years, I will be learning from him and going thru the tutorials books as well.
