Cimco Edit 5 in Mastercam X2 MR2

Based on requests from the Resellers and customers, Cimco Edit5 will be included in Mastercam with the release of Mastercam X2 MR2 due in August. The Cimco Edit5 that is included in MR2 contains Cimco Edit Standard, Intelligent File Compare, 1 DNC Link, which allows multiple configurations, but one active transfer at a time. (This is not the full edition of Edit5).

Those who already have the full version or choose to purchase the full version of Cimco Edit5 will have the added functionality of the NC backplotter. The backplotting module supports turning, 2D/3D milling, 5-Axis milling, and features the new and faster CIMCO 3D Solid simulation kernel.

Using a new CNC code translator with ISO code support for drilling cycles etc., and full Heidenhain support, you will get a more accurate visualization of your CNC programs than ever before.

Mastercam will reveal its latest machining techniques at the Makino Die / Mold Technology Expo, September 25-27 in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Among the new suite of Mastercam programming techniques to be shown, several are of direct interest to the die / mold industry. These include efficient “peel milling” and new techniques for restricting tool motion to specialized areas.
