X2 Mr2 lost all geometry

I closed a file and came back an hour later to

work some more on it.

when I open the file I got this

.

draft.jpg

.

Then I continued and got this

.

draft2.jpg

.

All my tool paths say merged?? and all my geometry

on all my levels are gone!!???

I copied the back up file before I opened it

just in case I get the same error.

I opened the back up file and it did it the exact

same.

Am I up the creek without a paddle?

Has any one else had this happen to them?

What do I do?? Star over?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Rick

Never mind ppl, i'll send it to QC zip to go

on monday.

I think the problem is the dimensioning errorrd

and corrupted the file.

So be careful, it corrupted the back up as well

I only do one back up. now I definitely will

have back up keep 2 or 3 for this reason.

I have the file from yesterday on my flash drive

and going start from there and re do.

Have a great weekend cheers.gif

Rickster, I tell this to customers who call in.

Backup, backup, backup

Set up and use the back up utility.

With the addition of this feature there is NO LONGER a reason you have to lose files.

Iv'e been working with QC on something simular to this. They have reproduced one error with the undo but mine has something to do with placing/editing notes and the live feature. I loose all my geometry and if I dont pay attention when I hit save I have to redo it all. It's kinda hard remembering to check the level manager to see if everything is there when your crusing along trying to keep from getting too far behind.

I am running MCAM X MR1, does the Backup utility exist in this config, only in X2 or downloadable? I checked in settings and configure, but cannot find it. We have had similar problems with this as well. One guy lost all of his data after working 4 days on a program. The only thing he got when he opened it was a few lines on the active level when he had saved it, but nothing under operations or any other geometry/levels. banghead.gifbanghead.gif

luckily, or fileserver backsup nghtly, so he only lost a days worth of work.

I had the corruption issue too, I was running the same file since version 8, now I decide to add drafting and the entire file is useless. Big complicated part too. Backups were there, but not most current. It's a shame the need exists now to back up after practically every mouse click. Ahh software progress. wink.gif
