  1. Just transitioned to MCAM 2024. Did CNC software get rid of the drop down arrow to change the stock model on the fly.
  2. Coolant is not an issue We machine it all the time depends on the SS pedigree some can be very abrasive
  3. I had to send our post to InHouse for them to take care of that for me.
  4. this started happening from the latest window 7 update for me also i would the ability to expand the toolpath parameters when clicking the + button and the right click becomes ineffective on the lower tool bar to change attributes etc.
  5. this bug has been around since the original release of X5 why do we have to wait for a second MU release of X6 to take care of the problem
  6. Makino all the way. may be pricey but you get what you pay for. Why not consider a 5 axis machine instead of a horiz. The mikrons from Agie are a good buy. You can always program 3+2 on those and still have full 5 axis capability when you need it.
  7. make sure your enable origin box is checked in your view manager.
  8. Why do we always need a work around for Master Cam. You would think that what is being paid for Yearly Maintainence that we would get a version that works at least 99.999999% All these workarounds do is slow your production down.
  9. changed the post for the spatial also had to change parameters in machine to activate spatial
  10. F20 will give you a feedrate of 2.00 ipm F200 will give you 20.0 ipm. ilooked thru my Tnc 530 post and can't find where it is getting the feed rate from for the drilling cycle. there is a cycle def for reaming. your pecking depth has to be larger than the drilling depth for the machine not to peck
  11. question how do i set up MC to generate Plane spatial commands for a MIkron 5axis using Heidenhain T530 control? i can only get it to generate Cycle 19
  12. the tap drill for a 2-56 STI form tap is .1015. we run that all day long with no problems. make sure the thread gauge is for the correct class thread you are trying to produce. for a thread that small the difference in tolerance dimension is very minimal. my 2 cents
  13. if your stubborn machinist does not want to try that, give him a kick upside the head and send him back to apprenticeship school.
  14. had this same problem when i upgraded to X4. the problem was the tools were still attached to the X3 tools directory. make sure all your tools are coming from the designated X5 directory. just a thought
  15. Look for this line in your post thread_address : 0 #Thread pitch address for lathe threading, 0 = Use F, 1 = Use E
  16. do you have the dnc or remote mode switch on your machine that will allow you to see the external device.
  17. what i do is place my main program call in the machine memory Eg.M1P8P100 O0100 is the program on the card. I/O has to be set to 4
  18. the question is - why do we need the annoying blue button? just one more way of slowing you down.
  19. thanks goldorak that did the trick.
  20. I need some help from the lathe guys. i searched the forum but could not find anything pertaining to my situation. i cannot get my custom tool to cut correctly. file is uploaded on the ftp in X4 files directory called CUSTOM TOOL PROBLEM using MCX4 MU3. thanks in advance for any help. how do get the tool to work properly and what am i doing wrong
  21. the info for creating custom tools for mill and lathe is in the help menu
  22. this R incremental is in Daewoo's pmc for all their canned cycles
  23. this is what works for me. i get better than a 32 fin bar is from sandvik did not have any luck with kennametal. no modifications to insert no SFM RPM = 200 X Feed .002 Z Feed .004
  24. i prefer the color change on XFORM thet way i can see both the result and the original. you are trying to fix something that is not broken. maybe look at something that actually reqiures some attention, like the lathe for instance
