X4 Verify and Save as STL

Is it me, or did this get broken? I have yet to get a large file to successfully save as STL for use a stock in a Rest Rough toolpath. Seems really slow, too.

 

Only had problems with really huge files in X3.

It is still broken for large files. It is hit and miss with me, the same as it has always been. For roughing, i always set my tool tolerance to .008". For semi-finishing, I set it to .004" and I'll set it to .002" for finishing. Normally it will save fine for my roughing toolpaths, but I have had several failures when semi-finishing down to a 1/2" ball mill. And yes, still takes ages to verify.

Try to use STLheal c-hook .

This doesnt help because the verify will crash when you are saving the verified result to STL, so you have nothing to "heal" with.

Yes, I have had lots of problems with verify. Large files will not even finish verifying for me. And STL creation is hit and miss for me too.

I too am having trouble with verify.

 

Been talking with CNC over it but nothing concrete as of yet to put the finger on.....

It "seems" like it is getting worse with every X release. When I first started out on XMR2 I could routinely save .stl files up to about 50 megs. Now with X4 it seems anything over about 10 megs is hit or miss. Curious.

Verify is either crashing or is so slow its unusable with the "highest quality" setting. Really quite disappointing.

When it crashes, be sure to send in the reports.

I sent a file in to QC on the 15th of June....have yet to hear back from them.

Gave up with verify years ago. We went the Vericut route.

Whenever possible, set your tool body diameter the same as the cutting diameter. You may already have it this way but if you don't, then try it. I read somewhere once that this gives verify some issues if they are not the same.
