Surface rough

I have a question about the surface rough pocket tool path. When I

 

I Have extra material on the top of the part I check on top of Stock

 

and I add the extra material but the toolpath doesn’t

 

Add the extra cuts. Could you please tell me how to add the extra cuts?

 

I asked this question to inhouse support and

get some stupid response that don't work

Set your cut depths to absolute values that represent your actual stock. Incremental will just look at the highest point on the surface.

Slamming the company that provides this forum is not a wise thing to do!!! Pictures are worth a 1000 words and if you put up some screen shots I am sure it would go a long way with helping you. I have created dummy surfaces to represent my extra stock and that has always gave me great results. I normally type my values in for stock. What might get the best results in not calling people helping you stupid and allow others to see what they can do to help you. I am very weary about even responding because I am suppose to read your mind and know exactly what you are doing without seeing it and offer advice and if it is wrong who is the bigger stupid??

cut depths always work for me.

go into cut depths in roughing parameters and set to absolute there and set min and max.

If you use cut depths incremental a negative

amount will add cuts to the top of the part

For Surface Rough Pocket, Create a Containment Boundary that represents your material (usually a rectangle, but can be any 2D chain).

 

Make the chain at your top of stock height, and Mastercam will calculate the depth cuts from this height.

 

Works every time.
