1 Computer 2 monitors

Hey Everyone

 

Boss has a spare monitor asked me if I wanted to add it to my system. If I do this can I run Mastercam Split screen; Model on one, tool ops on other? If not I am not sure I want to give up the desk space.

 

Any advice?

Absolutely. That's how I do it. You can undock the ops manager and level manager and put them on the other screen.

Once you use dual screen you will never want to go back to a single screen. Been doing it for over 3 years now and feel lost with my second screen.

I just hooked up a second monitor. I really like it. I now have 2 22" wide screen monitors. No more opening and closing things all the time.

We have the dual monitor for about 3 or 4 months now.......got used to it right away......after the first month one of my monitors burned out.....it was hard going back to one monitor while a new one was ordered....

This video card has two video outs...I am going to try that...especially now with multithreading...

Make sure you enable the Nvidia Desktop Manager

in your Control Panel.

It controls how application windows are handled

with dual screens..

and

you can snap applications between screens

with hotkeys..

I have

screen 1 = "ctrl ~"

and

screen 2 = "ctrl 1"

 

I settled on these keystrokes years ago

becaue you can hit them with one hand and they don't conflict with Mastercam V9 or X hotkeys

I can remember a time when James used one monitor between two Yasda ...

 

I've been using dual monitors for about 12 years now, one company I used three monitors, that was fun ... Now, I am using two 24" Samsung ... really clear and nice ...

I would settle for just hardware that is current tech...

 

This place is so cheap, they still running off the same SUN boxes as when I started here 7 years ago...

 

And those are only running about about equal to a 900 MTZ p4...

2 ViewSonic VG930m monitors and it's running great with my new IBM lenovo W500 Thinkpad Laptop.

 

Running duals not only helps with MC... it's just cool period. Nothing like having internet poker on 1 screen and checking Outlook Emails on the other!
