Selection of multiple entities...

Unlike other a lot of other Windows based programs Mastercam does not require users to hold down the Control Key when making multiple selections.

 

Do you see this as a problem?

Ken, entity selection is fine. PLEASE fix selection in the op manager. While I'm b!tchn

also fix machine type selection. I'm set to design on start-up, but hit file new and I'm stuck dealing with changing out lathe for mill or mill for lathe, Thanks

I agree with others' views. I like that geometry selection doesn't have to hold down the ctrl to make it work

p.s. I'd wager the "control key behavior" wouldn't be on there.

I like that current use of the CNTL key while selecting which is force window select, great for cluttered areas.

i probably tipped my hand in the way i asked the question...

 

This isn't something we are thinking about changing anyt time soon, it's just one of those questions that comes up from time to time and i wanted to get some input from you guys rather than speculate about it anymore.

Leave it the way it is. I used Delcam where you had to hold down the Control key and if you missed holding it down part way through, you would lose all your selections. A real pain.

SW uses the control key like that and it is annoying.

If your selecting chains I do it by the shift key right? I don't think I'm coordinated enough to hold down control and shift and click all at once. Lol. It's good the way it is and I like the toggle selection if you grab something you didn't want you can in select it without having to start over.
