Create Surface Question

Attached is a picture of some holes and slots I'm trying to cap, and I'm having trouble creating the yellow radii at the bottom of this pocket. The slot runs into the radius so it left a triangle shaped empty spot for me to cover.

 

I used create, surface, swept, and it looks good, but when I dynamically analyze it, it is not a true radius. It varies about .030"

 

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Use the fillet surf that is already there.

 

Copy and untrim it.

 

Or make a ruled out of the square outermost edges of the grey fillet and let it sit on top or trim to the edgecurves of the pocket.

How about untrimming/extending existing fillet along that wall.

Since you have Moldplus, you could also use Junction Surface, Link Edges and close the hole in 1 click. The Link edges will make a closed link of any open boundaries (if they can be closed).

I tried that and it gave me a pretty funky surface. Looks like I need some practice.

 

I don't use Moldplus nearly as much as I probably should. It is very good for what I use it for.

Another method is to create an edge curve at the ends of the (old rad) surface and create a new ruled/lofted surface.
