Mastercam programmer certification

I understand Boeing is requiring programmer certification to do work

for them - can anyone explain what this entails as far as documenation and

programming level - ie: surfaces - 5th axis etc.

Mastercam has a Ceritification Program

 

but I'm thinking Boeing may have thier own certifcation test

My guess is that Boeing's programmer certification is one of two things.

 

1. You are AS9100 compliant.

 

2. You are union friendly.

I'm not sure which division you are working/applying for, or who you heard this from, but nobody in the group of 30+ programmers I worked with was "certified" in Mastercam programming. When you say "do work for them", are you talking about contract programming, or working for a supplier that makes Boeing parts?

 

Granted, I left Boeing in January, so this could be a new requirement. I think Boeing has at least a couple hundred Mastercam users in the company, and I would be highly surprized if more than 5% of them have been through the certification program.

 

Do you have any other information? I have plenty of contacts in the company, so I'll ask around and see if anyone else has any info...

Company wants to do contract work for Boeing

and the understanding is iso 9000 certification is required

The info was Mcam certification was a requirment for certification

Perhaps this is a misunderstanding
