looking for info on first 3+2 5 axis machine

We had a new HSM_400U_LP delivered today. The truck driver arrived early and was in a hurry to get going. He pulled the tarps off the machine before the shop was open. The machine was modified by the dealer for a vacuum system and shipped un-crated, just shrink wrapped and put on skids. It starts raining hard and the shrink wrap can't hold the water. Every nook and cranny, cavity or pocket was filled with water. The replacement machine arrives in December.

:help:

Somebody is having a bad day somewhere. I'm all for getting things done, but I see way too much of this hasty mentality on a daily basis. Lets stop and think for a minute about the risk/reward for the decision we're about to make. All of the problems that come from that type of thinking are completely avoidable and that's what makes them sooo frustrating when its time to clean up the mess. Sorry to rant and I hate to hear about your machine.

Notice the risers on the vise and the renishaw device? This set up works just fine for us.

nice setup!

suppose you had to custom order with servo for the Haas, whose name escapes me at the moment.

much better than any factory rotaries, IMO.

i'd like to know the price....and at the same time wouldn't

MCM - Did you make a note of the serial number of the machine before it dissapeared? Just in case the same one comes back to you...

Briefly spoke with the local haas salesman today. He said the UMC-750 takes about 7-8 months to get. haas is selling 1-2 a day and building 1-2 a week. They even changed over one of there plants to build more UMC-750s. It use to take 10 months to get one. They even have the only one in the state in house for a show at the end of the month that is already sold but atleast we will get to see one in person and compare it next to some higher end machines that they also sell.
