looking for info on first 3+2 5 axis machine

Briefly spoke with the local haas salesman today. He said the UMC-750 takes about 7-8 months to get. haas is selling 1-2 a day and building 1-2 a week. They even changed over one of there plants to build more UMC-750s. It use to take 10 months to get one. They even have the only one in the state in house for a show at the end of the month that is already sold but atleast we will get to see one in person and compare it next to some higher end machines that they also sell.

 

The company I just started with bought one of them 5 months ago...It doesn't ship from Haas till the second week of October. I was just at Productivity last week and hung out for a little bit while they were getting it ready for the show. Me thinks it's going to be a fun toy to crash.....errr....I mean play with

No one has mentioned a DMG DMU 50 or 70 with the Heidenhain controll I believe its the best 3+2 machine on the market.

I wonder where the price of a DMG DMU 50/70 start? looks like a good machine. I just think with our tight budget it would be to high for us.

I have 2 of these....

 

 

 

Good little machines. I want to sell one to get a higher end machine like hermle so I can start bidding on closer tolerance work.

 

I've had the first one for about 18 months and the second for 9 months.
