Cutter Compensation Not Successful

Every so often when doing a 2D tool path I get this error and no matter how many times I hit the OK button the window won't go away. The only solution that I have is starting Task Manager and killing Mastercam. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a solution? Thanks in advance.

I got that once when chaining a circle and it took me forever to figure out that there was a duplicate circle that was getting chained as well. Look for duplicates or use single mode with the wait comand.

I get that sometimes. I just hold enter till they run out.

X7. No duplicate geometry. Can't say I ever saw it lock like this on a previous version. I'm not sure how long I would have to keep hitting OK for it to clear. I'll try to remember holding the Enter key the next time it happens.

This may happen if you chain geometry in the wrong direction usually a pocket and there is not enough room to create a lead-in or lead-out for the compensation. The reason you have to hit the ok button so many times is probably because the compensation failed that many times.

There are three lines in the contour. That's why I think it has to be a glitch.

Usually you get this when you try and do a contour lets say it looks like an open pocket and you use a .500 em and tell it say 8 pass's at .3 and the size of the tool and how many step overs add up to be more then the space will allow. then you see this pop up. now how many times it pops up is how many times to many step overs you are doing, so if the compensation see's it can fit 5 pass at that step over you will get the alarm 3 times that you have to click on it. hope this makes sense and helps.

It makes sense. That might have happened if the tool path took the settings from the previous operation. Right now I can't be sure but I'll be on the look out from now on.

I iwish if I forgot to uncheck multi passes it would give me the warning without completely blowing away the toolpath and having to make all my changes to the op all over again.
