Parasolids Translator

[MIL-TFP-41]

hey all, Solidworks has recently release their 2004 package...and big suprise, they changed the parasolid engine to v15. Unfortuantly, as of now Mastercam (V9.1 SP2) only supports v14.x.

 

Are there any plans to release an updated translator? Or am I missing a download?

At the current time I am having them save there cartoons as a Parasolid, not a .sldprt

 

That seems to be working good enough for me to tool path off of it.

Just tried the download...It did not work. Maybe the customer file is corrupted? Had the customer send it as a parasolid. It opened up without a problem.

I havent had a chance to play with it yet. (I dont have a solidwork 2004 file yet.) But was able to download and install the patch. The install said that it was sucessful. Do you have MC version9.1 with the SP2 installed?

Yes, I do...Mark, the install was succesful. I gotta feeling that it's not MC, but the file that was sent to me. Thanks for your help.

You will NEED to be logged in as administrator to apply the patch successfully. If not it will not work.

Um, is there a way to check on the administrator login? I'm certainly not the system administrator, but I think I'm administrator on MY Win 2000 box.

 

The install said it was OK.

 

Got a super simple SW2004 model that I could try?

how does this fix work does it incress your parasolid level up to v15?? the last fix for sw2003 was run as a chook ????

+1 what Roger said and make sure Mastercam is not running during the installation.

Sorry Greg, that was for you. Depending on the operating system and account privelages and who knows what else I have already seen a variety or errors if the patch was applied without being logged in as administrator. As far as finding out what privelages you have I think if you go to the control panel > sytem > user profiles there should be some info there.

thanks roger and mark i had the IT guy turn on the privledges and it said all was well but we dont have our sw2004 installed yet to try it!!! thanks for the tip
