Version 9.1 sp2 questions.

Hi, we just moved to Version 9 and I have a few questions that hope someone can answer for me. 1) Is it just me or does posting take a lot longer than in Ver 8. 2)Is there some way to get the operations to use the values of the last toolpath for rapid, retract, etc like version 8. In version 9, each time I create a new toolpath I have to adjust these settings from the defaults.

Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the forum Neil,

I think you may want to start searching old threads for some answers you have. a lot of what you will be asking has been covered. If you cant find it someone will step up to the plate for ya. we all had simular Q's from the jump to 9

Well on the Operation you will need to create your own. Go to Screen/Confrigations/Operational Defulats/. Here you will need to go to every tool path and create like a template. I know it is different from V8 but once you get use to it all is good. Post that is a different thing. I would make sure you have either updated you old post or got a new post of the post Cd and modify it to your liking good luck. Anythign esle you post away we will see if we can help you.

Crazy Millman teh Welcoem to the 9.1 era to bad X will be here and those of us not going there will be left behind.

+1 to that!

After this is set you will have standard clearance and retract and depth of cuts for op's or however you set it. This is nice, then once in a while when your programs require different numbers you can put them in.

As far as your post, did you update it?

Main menu/ NC Utilities / Post Proc / Up Date PST

That will make your post jive better with V9

Good luck, post away!

In all honesty,

I found it better to not "update post" but to take one of the ones supplied in V9 and "re-configure" the post again.

It is a lot more work, but seems to work better, and if you did keep a history log of you V8 post,(changes you made)it will not be too bad to do.

This is just my opinion.

I have tried the post update...not a big fan of it.

Welcome to teh forum too! wink.gif
