  1. So I talked to the Guys at Renshaw. Looks like to do what I want would require a strain gauge probe and newer software than what this control has. This is Just a OMP60 from 2011. But he made a recommendation that I am going to give a go. Since I am already probing the Y with a P9812 (web probe cycle he recommended writing the error which is recorded to #143 to a #500 then using that error to update my z value after running my P9811 ( z probe cycle). And that might get me close enough. I am going to play with this more Monday. I am letting you guys know all this because I have always gotten frustrated when searching the achieves for info, and the post went dead when someone figured something out. I am all about sharing, so once I get code that works I will post it for the world. Lol

  3. Greetings all, I have developed a setup sheet that is really more of an Operation check list. Developed for minimal paper waste. It works with all three of the main program types without changing report templates: Mill, Lathe, and Mill/Turn. The operations are color coded: Blue is turning, Yellow is Milling, and red is Manual Entry. If the tools are named in Mastercam the way that I recommend, all of the information will be there for the operator: Insert codes, etc. Included in the zip file that is attached is a sample turning program with milling, the Active report templates, a Word doc with instructions on how to install and where to enter information. For best results, pay close attention to the Word doc on what and where I enter the names and comments of the tools and operations. Disclaimer: Use at your own risk. 4. Best to get a hold of your Mastercam dealer since in my opinion this is a very specific request. Possible yes, but would need a sample file in a Z2G with the post with about 20-30 different operation to give conditions used to make sure the post is doing it in a way that is not going to give problems else where. Even then it would be a use at your own risk. Ref Points in Operation might do exactly what you are asking for. Have you tried using them?

  5. Welcome to CNC Programming 101. Understanding applying Cutter Compensation to the cut. Many of the earlier controls didn't give us the option of putting in anything but the radius of a tool. We would get into situations like this and try to cut an ID shape and get the same error on the machine. We would have to make a move above the part to apply the cutter comp large enough to allow it to be applied with the radius value of the tool and then bring the tool into the hole and cut the shape we wanted to cut. Then we would have to remove the tool from the hole and then move the tool away with enough room to turn off the cutter comp at least the radius of the tool. The builders starting allowing Wear Comp and got away from requiring people to only use Radius. That is what wear comp is for to change the comp by the value of the tool wear. The other advantage is the use of Zero for a cutter compensation and drop our tool into a tight feature and use a small move to activate and deactivate cutter comp. Rules still have to be followed here where we cannot have .01 worth of wear added, but only program .002 room to apply it. Circle mill has different ways to control things and take the time to learn what they are and what doesn't make sense will become understandable.
