how can i change the file extension for setup sheets? i changed the $sextnc to .TSX in the .set post file and i still get .doc!!! in versions prior to X i would change the config file #502 document (ascii) extension? to .ts7 or .ts8 or .ts9 and the sexnc in the .set posts. now i want the .doc files to output .tsx . there are no lines in the config files in X for file extensions. can this be changed or is .doc hardwired in all versions of X ?
thanks

I not asking cnc to support old versions of there software. i just want to read the mc7 file. the sunset chart say mc7 is updateable to x2. it also says mc7 is not supported in x. i think cnc needs to define what is ment by the terms support, updateable, and what is readable.

Now the rest of the story! these mc7 files are working files. we get 2 to 5 uprevs. per day. so we grab the mc7 file while in mc10 mr2 up rev it, make the geo. adjustments, rengrave, post in mc10 mr2, and send it to the shop floor. take the old mc7 down rev and archive it done. why did cnc remove the ability to read mc7 files from the new mcx2? i need this function in mcx2!!!!!!!!!! mass translation is not an option. the current way is double the work. mc7 to mc10 mr2 to mcx2
thanks again

is there a way to read mc7 legacy files into x2? i can read them with xmr2. i have 28,600 of them. right now i read them into xmr2 save then read them into x2. this could be a real pain.

I stand corrected should be a 2.8mm drl. I've used carbide cut taps in 440c stainless at 35RC. if you can find a carbide 3x.5 roll tap it will last longer.
M3x.5 rolltap should be drilled with 2.5mm > 2.6mm drill. use a carbide circuit board drl. cham hole 120 deg 3.15mm. check feed per rev. use all the control will allow. fpr.5mm = fpr .019685039in. if your in inch mode your tap makes 16 turns to the depth. if your feed per rev is off by +-.0001in. the deeper you go this small amount adds up quick. make sure you use a rolltap with a hydrolic releaf. richen your coolant, blow holes clean. hope this some help.

ps. i think matsura's will take 5 or 6 dec. places in rigid.
John,
tapped 1200 holes 0.9mm x .225 at 4mm deep this week. carbide spot, circuit board drl 4.25mm deep, roll tap rigid at 1500 rpm , feed per rev =.00885827 reverce out at 3000 rpm same feed. (machine is set to inches and will take 8 dec. places for rigid feed). you need that for small pitch taps. one spot, drl, and tap for all 1200 holes in 7075 alum. !!!!

db, the ccw gives you the negative spindle speed. the negative spindle speed gives you the M04. look at the post you will see the selector.

mick,
you need to find ought what you have in your control. Hi2-NC G187/G186 or Super Hi-NC G131/G130.
i don't think you can have both in the same control . also do you have linear encoders on these machines? call Okuma with the serial number they can tell you what you have. they are very good with keeping track of what was purchased or what was added.
