  1. Could anyone help me with this one?!? FTP mc.9 folder surface5.mc9 I can't seem to trim the 2 surfaces to each other. Modify > trim > to surfaces It says curves no closed??? But I'm not even given a chance to select any curves... What am I doing wrong... Again!
  2. Shot in the dark here but is it possible you have a separate page for tool lenght "wear" and that there is a big offset there?
  3. I got it now. My c-hook directory had been rerouted when i put ncdatasheet.dll in my documents folder. That was scary.
  4. Now every file I open says MP.dll not found and I can't post anything anymore I gotta fix this now. Please.
  5. That doesn't do it John but thx for trying.
  6. Hey guys! I tried to run ncdatasheet.dll that I found on the ftp site just to see what it would give me. It didn't seem to do much and now each time I try to open or post the file I get MP.EXE not found and folder not found. Is there any way to undo ncdatasheet.dll??? Should have made a dummy file first.
  7. NC utilities/setup sheet Click on the bottom left tool icon. How's that?
  8. If that works then it shouldn't hurt to have more geometry does it? Are you using X or 9?
  9. Is this the same pulley I drew up for you?
  10. I would like to see "make finish depth cut and finish pass" one cut.
  11. FTP SITE. Link at top of this page. You can put your drawing there and tell us what it's called.
  12. I tried doing a search and there's lost of threads on forced tool changes but nothing quite like this that I can find. I'm using a harding post and when I force a tool change it outputs a tool change for every pass in that operation!?! Shouldn't it be only at the beggining. BTW is there a way to view past your last 50 posts?
  13. I hear you John but I clearly remember trying to extend the comp cancel line because I thought the line was to short to allow all the offset to be removed I hardly ever see positive comp beeing used but even in cases where the offset was minor like (.010") it's minor but still there. + the drilling cycle has to be the very next operation. In 10 years I've only seen it happen twice (other then the times where I did it on purpose to prove my point). Try it and let me know. Very currious.
  14. I've worked alot with fanuc controles and one really really weird thing that I have noticed and no one beleives me until I show them is... If you use POSITIVE tool comp on a tool and the next tool is a drilling cycle; the hole locations WILL be affected!!!! The bigger your positive diameter offset the bigger the problem. I first noticed this when I had to offset a 3.00" facemill to replace a 4.00" with +.500" toolcomp the following centerdrill was about .010" off location. I know it's hard to believe but I've seen it happen in more then 1 shop on a variety of machines. This might not be what this thread is about but I thought I'd mention it.
  15. When I change the width of my slotmill it doesn't force me to regenerate my toolpath??? Shouldn't the width of my tool be a factor in that kind of operation? I'm using flowline, it's worked well before... Any sugestions?
  16. I think you need to go to screen/configure under the NC settings tab/operations default. There you can change your feed to read material. Save when you exit. HTH.
  17. Does anyone have the time to look at the file surfacehelp.mc9 I put in the mc9 folder of the ftp site? I can't figure out how to get the top rad of my slitting saw to follow the surface. Thanks in advance.
  18. No complaints about the speed of weel zoom here.
  19. Nice. I still wonder if there's a trick for that in 9.
  20. Even if it's not a function just a trick of some kind would be nice.
