I've almost got it!
Machine is set up, job is programmed and posted.
Now... how do I keep my "A" feeds from going to 300 ipm??? Is it in the post or my paramaters?
The only thing I can think of is to keep your "entryexit arc sweep" under 180 degrees. or you won't get a straight line for your tool comp.
I like to put mine at 112.5
HTH
Good luck.
I want to do a little project of my own.
I would like to make a ring with my new company name written on the O.D. with elevated letters!
At one of my shops we have a VF3 with rotary table and I've done a lot of jobs on it but only where the A axis runs on one line and X,Y,Z on other lines.
Are there any tutorials I can get my hands on?
Can I take this level of programming in any schools?
Anyone in the Ottawa or Montreal area willing to teach a quick learner?
Same as David said for V9.
Right click/ bottom of the list/ auto cursor/ click it, if the check mark goes away it should be off.

Have you tried entering the tool radius in your machine control?
If you turn your compensation to wear then you should get a toolpath that is centered on the spindle.
If you don't mind me asking, what shop do you work for in Winnipeg?
Might I suggest first creating the tangent line to make sure you're selecting the right section of the arcs then dimensioning that line.
Welcome to the forum!
I've never had 2 much trouble with any Bridgeport Hardinge machine I had to run.
They might not be the best but I like em.
I'd buy one if I had the chance.
Thanks Thad!
But my surfacing toolpath worked well without trimming.
It was just annoying not to be able to do something that I figured should be simple.
Come to think of it I don't think I've ever successfully trim 2 surfaces together without using curves.
