  1. SolidWorks released SW2006 AFTER we released this version of X, so unfortunately the version of X that's out there does not read .SLDPRTs created in the official release of SW2006. Support for import of SolidWorks 2006 parts will be included in the upcoming "1st Service Pack" (SP1) of Mastercam X.
  2. In what folder was X installed? Is there a Resources sub-folder there? Is MCGeomSldRes.Dll in that sub-folder? When you say you "set up the package for a lathe seat" do you mean that you edited the properties of the icon for launching X? If so, what is in the "Start in" field? It should match the folder you installed X in.
  3. Yet you can open other file types from the server? And you can open DXF files if they're on the local computer? (just trying to fget the facts straight...)
  4. I'll take a look at it ([email protected]). Please make sure you let me know how you're selecting the chains.
  5. I just duplicated Mark Bana's... "Don't try to create a point while in verify/measure. You'll get a message :"Function not responding to MC_EXITFUNC request. Please report error to dealer" ...problem. I'll see what we can do about this and any others
  6. It'll help us track it down (and help others avoid it) if you could share a little more information about how you got that to happen.
  7. The Solid --> 2D Profile function will currently only generate the OD. We've received several requests to to the ID too, and it's planned for some time in the future.
  8. Pyrocelli, Any chance you have the File/Open dialog in 'Preview' or 'Bitmap' modes? If so, try 'List' or 'Details'. You may be running into a problem when it's looking for a thumbnail bitmap in the DXF (and there aren't any!)
  9. Bernie, Which part is "impressive"? The fact that I put all the code in but forgot to make it available (doh!) or the fact that it can be made available with a simple .REG file? Of course now people are going to think that all they need is for me to send them a .REG file and they can get any other type of output - UG, Pro/E, KeyCreator... Sorry - it's not that flexible!
  10. Jim, That was an "oops" on our part. I will correct this in the upcoming 1st Service Pack release. The underlying code is really in X now, ready to work, but the .CDL extension is being prevented from being used as a "Save as" choice. Due to the flexibility of how our Import/Export functionality was re-written for X, if you would care to e-mail me ([email protected]) I can send you a .REG file that you can simply double-click on to add a registry setting which will make the .CDL extension recognizable to "Save as".
  11. Sorry - it's white unless you're using a white background. We don't allow the ability to modify it. Sounds like a reasonable request, if you don't mind sending it to [email protected]
  12. But...if you are entitled to an update to X and you receive it and Wire X codes, you can run the "Design" portion of X - so you can do some learning about the changes that have occured there. You can't make or view or modify wirepaths.
  13. I run Mastercam X like this... "C:mcamxmastercam.exe" "P-rimkus-xpinstallsmcamx.config" ... and it finds the CONFIG file on that network node. Don't forget the quotes if the path (or the file itself) has spaces!
  14. Todd, Dude, - Are you using a NetHASP over a network or a regular HASP on your computer? - Is the computer being left idle so that the screen saver kicks in? - if so, what are the settings when the screensaver turns on? password? sleep? turn off disk, etc? - if not, can you verify that the problem is NOT associated with the printer - in other words, does it drop the HASP when there is not a printer connected?
  15. GCode, Thanks for steppin' in. I wasn't paying attention to where that post was.
  16. It's a bug that's been logged and corrected for the 1st Service Pack. See... http://www.emastercam.com/cgi-bin/ultimate...ic;f=9;t=001115 ... for a workaround
  17. Thad, Remove (or at least rename) the CHOOKS sub-folder beneath C:Mcamx-demo. C-Hooks don't run in DEMO anyway, and it looks like we simply left a few out of that sub-folder which the Chooks .FT file (function table) is looking for.
  18. dkintzel, You received it TODAY and you're already giving up??? All our hard work....sob...whimper...
  19. Hacsta, Are you selecting "(*.SLDPRT) SolidWorks Files" from the "Files of Type" dropdown in File/Open? In V9 you would use File/Get/Parasolid, but now SolidWorks files have their own choice.
  20. I looked at this IGES file in a couple other software packages (viewers and CAD programs) and it looks just as bad in all of them.
  21. DRS, To the best of my knowledge, we are not intentionally writing anything to C:Documents and SettingsUser AccountLocal Settings.... Can you verify that a file which is not there when Mastercam is launched is there afterwards? If so, does it's size depend on what you're doing in Mastercam? Maybe one of the 3rd-party libraries we're using is doing it, but I haven't seen it happen here.
  22. What version of Mastercam are you using? This sounds like something we've corrected a while ago.
  23. Right now, X (in its Production Candidate #1 form, which Beta testers will hopefully get soon but don't ask me because it's not within my control) supports import of parts from SW releases up to SW2006 Pre-Release 2. We'll do everything we can to support the official release very soon after it's released.
