  1. I just posted a NCI file for a lathe part and pick the prmcode before the tool holder number.
  2. I think you need to capture the prmcode 20110 and assign it to another string variable (stholder, for instance). HTH Dave H. I²S
  3. Running dual core/cpu won't help with the calculations yet. That article is a reference to help your system perform better not Mastercam. I also heard that Mastercam will have support for Multi-processor systems as well as SLI technology in the future. MR-1..? I doubt it. MR-1, good news/bad news, you decide If your getting hung up on verify and backplot, replace the graphic card with something better, the QuadroFX 500 is an entry level card. JMO Dave H. I²S
  4. FOUND IT! Well I found when it happens.... It happens if you go back in to the parameters for the Stock Flip Operation and make an adjustment to the Final Postion coordinates, click OK, then regen the operation. My T0202 changed to T0002 in the two previous Ops. once the regen completed.
  5. Chao, Yes, stock flip works (except in verify) for me also. In verify the part indexes, the jaws "close", but do not move/shift in Z. The Stock/Chuck boundry lines move where they are supposed to in the geometry view though. Update stock is active and all the Operations appear to be intact. Everything backplots and verifies correctly. It seems to be the tool that was used just before the stock flip that is changed.
  6. WOW, this post goes back a couple! It seems this problem has made it's way into X as well. Anybody have a resolve yet? Dave H. I²S
  7. It wouldn't by chance be an Intel Celeron 2.0Ghz would it? Does Mastercam X peg to 100% CPU upon opening the program and stay that way until you close it?
  8. in your machine def, expand the tree of axes and attachments, find the spindle/chuck. Right click->Properties and adjust your max speed. HTH Dave H. I²S
  9. I'm getting a new AMD Athlon64 4000+ 939, Asus AN8-SLI mobo, and a nVidia GeForce 7800GTX next week. My reseller has recommended the 7800 as a good performance card when not running in SLI, and it's a fraction of the price of the high end Quadro cards or twice the price of the entry-level Quadro cards. 2 gig of PC3200 should work well too. Right now I'm running a P4 3.0Ghz, on an Intel 865 board with 1 gig of PC3200, and a QuadroFX 500 AGP card. It runs OK for most things, but it's a dog on surfacing. As far dual processor/core systems, I'm under the impression that they don't necessarily enhance Mastercam's performance, but should help the overall system performance. Should be an interesting upgrade. Dave H. I²S
  10. You could try prv_zabs or prv_z$. I'm not too sure if there is any difference other than z$ being a "system" variable. HTH Dave H. I²S
  11. quote: create-arc- circle edgepoint ,tangent button, select your entities and dia. or rad. OK Then you may get multiple choices, if there is more than one outcome, click the one you want to keep.
  12. HI Beezer, Welcome to the forum. I had something similar with my maho post. I initialized a string variable, quote: s_drill_zpos : 0 formatted it, quote: fmt Z 2 s_drill_zpos #Decimal, absolute, 4/3 place then defined it as top of stock "Z", and called it out in my drill post blocks, quote: s_drill_zpos = tosz$ pcan1, pbld, n$, "G79", *prv_xabs, *prv_yabs, *s_drill_zpos, *prv_cabs, feed, strcantext, e$ Hope this gives you some ideas. Good luck. Dave H. I²S
  13. Lou, right click on your desktop Mastercam X shortcut->Properties if the Target location is "C:mcamxmastercam.exe" you should be good. If your IT guys are particular, then they might have installed to "C:Program FilesMcamxmastercam.exe" If they are paranoid lunatics and stripped away your ability to right-click on things.. you'll have to get them to find it. Change the Root Mastercam location in the .set file "sroot c:mcamx", to the location where the mastercam.exe actually is. HTH Dave H. I²S
  14. quote: my html.psb and .set went to c:/mcamx/mill/posts is that right? my IT administrater did the installation for me. I would think that if you post from .PST files that are on a network drive, you would also have to copy the html.set and html.psb files there as well. Dave H. I²S
  15. quote: me too....but still working on it Lou, I got around that particular problem by modifying the "sroot" line in the html.set file. My install directory was not C:mcamx Is yours? Dave H. I²S
  16. I noticed that too, but keeping the toolpath connected makes it subprogram friendly. It would be nice if we could adjust the feed rate on the open end cuts, if not rapid with the tool down (eek!). Dave H. I²S
  17. Maybe in your control definition, under Text, Custom Drill Parameters??? I'm not positive, but it's worth a shot. HTH Good luck, Dave H. I²S
  18. From what I've been reading, you can save out your levels to a CSV file and modify it in MS Excel, then import it back in. It's a right click option in the level manager: get/save named levels. Make a back up first and try it. Dave H. I²S
  19. In my case the plug-in is located: Tools->Mastercam Direct->Mastercam X I'm running Inventor Series 9 Dave H. I²S
  20. No problem. Glad it worked out for you. Dave H. I²S

    Viewports

No, you don't. Just answering your complaint to the best of my ability. Another problem with printing multiple viewports to one page: if you change your WCS (to show origins on part set-ups), it changes the WCS in all four windows. So, in this regard they are not all that independant of each other. Dave H.
  22. I noticed that after changing the program number via edit common params; Even though the Ops don't get dirty I still have to select all ops. and force a regen for the new program number to make it into the post.

    Viewports

For individual prints: hover the cursor over the viewport you want to print then press Alt+F, you will "lock" in the viewport and allow the cursor to be moved freely. As far as printing all four on the same sheet, I still have not found a way to do that. HTH Dave H. I²S
  24. quote: Machine Group 1->Properties->Tool Settings->Feed Calculation->From Tool->OK I guess I'd better add cncs0ftware under my name to get people to read!
