  1. right click icon and chose open with mcam2019 and check always use this program
  2. Yeah that was a big change. I was using X5 in 2012 I think, and been away from the trade for a few years, jumping back into 2019 is quite a learning curve, tempted to download x5 again. lol
  3. Haha, of course. I guess i am a bit rusty having a couple years off. Thanks
  4. How can I get the setup sheet to only output 1 tool for multiple operations, instead of having the same tool listed multiple times? btw x+ works great now, haven't used it since x5
  5. Yes I did, the tool that I used to teach z0 worked fine, the others were off
  6. I reciently started with a new company and they purchased this machine. There is no tool presetter so I use a 1-2-3 block to set the height offsets, then set g54 to the top of the part. The offsets on the tools are correct but for some reason when I bring each tool to z0. They are not correct. I am new to this controller, but figured it would be the same as the fusion controllers. There only seems to be one tool offset page for both Eia and mazatrol now, unless I’m missing something. Could this be a problem with my parameter settings, or am I doing something wrong? It has been a while since I used mazak, but I think the settings were in F91 or F92
  7. We are having a used machine installed next week, and it comes with a 20' lns hydrobar bar feeder. We don't have room for the barfeeder, but would if we could shorten it to 10-12 feet. Has anyone ever tried modifying one?
  8. We Have 3 new workstations at work, they are all the same except mine has a ssd drive (only drive installed), and the other 2 machines have wd velociraptors, and I have tested the machines regenerating the same program on both machines, and the SSD was only 2 seconds faster than the velociraptor. Boot times, and loading mcam are much faster with SSD though.
  9. Oh ok, Yeah they are hard to find. We have access to an optical comparitor. We may have to grind a double angle cutter to do the job.
  10. The angle is 45 degrees included. What do you mean wrong angle?
  11. We are running the parts on a 5 axis mill so a 45deg dovetail cutter with a .01 corner rad would work with the head tilted to 22.5 deg from 90. The problem is finding a cutter with the rad.
  12. We have quite a few charpy test pieces to make, and we would rather not have to buy a broaching machine to cut the notch. We have a 3" angle cutter that worked well, but it requires a .01 +/- .001 corner rad. Are there any cutters that would work good for this notch? http://www.twi.co.uk/twiimages/faqplm005f2.gif
  13. Our supplier for most of our shop supplies is a Kenemetal distributer. I have no problem using there brand if it truly is of equal quality. But from my experience I don't feel they are of equal quality, but will check if he is willing to give a demo
  14. We usually use OSG for our general purpose endmills, ada our tool supplier talked us into trying Kenemetal because the cost is lower and the quality is supposed to be comparable to OSG. We didnt have the best of luck, and our supplier is saying that our S&F's must be off. Has anyone tried these endmills? Did you have any luck with them? We have 1", and 1.25 Kenemetal solid carbides that work very well, but 3/4< are not working as well.
  15. Nvidea now has a 2GB Quadro 4000 for aprox $750.00... Sorry G, didnt see your post before I replied
  16. Im looking at video cards, and just wondering how the quadro 4000 would compare with the fx 4800? The quadro 4000 has 2gb ddr5 compared to 1.5 gb in the 4800.
  17. Select all entities, then right click the line thickness tab on the lower screen.
  18. I tried that Tyler, it worked fine in verify, but not on the machine. I am wondering if maybe it has somthing to do with the updateed post? I am going to program the same part in x4 later, and see if it works
  19. I machined a corner rad in the bottom of a deep slot with the tilt angle set to 15 deg to clear the tool holder. I had to mill the rad on both sides of the slot, so I used 3-d curves for cut param, and surface for tool control. In verify, and backplot this worked great, but wouldn't work when posted on the machine, nothing would seem to fix the problem until I removed one of the chains, and post each side separably. I think I posted multi curves in one operation in the past, but can only post i curve at a time now. Is anyone else having this problem? Machine is a DMG DMU80T.
  20. It isnt much harder to program from a solid than a 2-d wireframe. The inhouse solutions tutorials are a good place to start
  21. My work e-mail blocked the attachment both as .catpart, and zip. I figured you would of found someone by now. Send it to [email protected], the only problem is I am away from the office until Monday.
