I'll do this for simple parts that are going through several machines
Assuming it is all on one machine, do you still use multiple machine groups?

I use a separate Machine Group for each operation.
Tom are you talking Machine group with stock setup or toolpath group? If Machine group could you post a screenshot of your toolpath manager from any file like this?

I would suggest the Gauge pins or Gauge blocks. Although Gauge Blocks would be not usable due to the slot being that small.

Is the machine capable of holding that tolerance?

I just opened the Generic Heidehain_TNC530 3 axis post with Cimco and the Coolant codes are searchable. You are opening the .pst file?
When you downloaded the post did you get the matching Control Definition and Machine Definition? Just thinking why the changes @AHarrison1 suggested didn't work.

Being current is never a bad idea IMHO.

What machine are you trying to set this up on? Your file has a Lathe machine on it.

Ive been trying to get that to work for a bit now and can't seem to get what I am looking for. I like the toolpath I was able to get using unified guide selecting my top and bottom arcs on the cylinder just can't seem to get the C axis to control to rotation.
@Aaron Eberhard Suggested adding a Mastercam file to your request for help. If you can't share that exact file make something up similar. Honestly if you add a file here you will get many people offering you ideas and help.

I am struggling, essentially what I am trying to do is use a face mill to create a spiral toolpath on the O.D. of a cylinder. I am using Unified Guided tool path and have the toolpath I want. The issue is in backplot the tool is rotating around the part following the spiral toolpath, I need the Tool to stay stationary in X and Y and just drop in Z while the part rotates in C to create my spiral. I thought it was only in backplot but when I output the code I am seeing large values in X and Y where it is still trying to move to tool around the part... I am at a complete loss.
Sounds like you could use a simple contour toolpath with the compensation set to off, using axis substitution. If you download the free training materials from In-house there is an example of this in Exercise 3 of the Multi-Axis PDF.

I am not just teaching Mastercam I am teaching manufacturing processes and giving insight into ways to make a companies profitable. I know a lot of the dealers personally and have a ton of respect for them and their teams, but I am the one some call when it is deep and very intense programming work.
This is the difference between hypothetical and real world experience.... They will learn more from you in a few days then taking 5 courses.

I put some Swept toolpaths on this file for an example.
The 2" rad cutter would cut into the floor on the slope area so I switched to the 1" flat end mill.
