It's not his "first" post Hardmill.
So does that still apply?
I tried one of those posts before and it turned my part into sawdust! Guess that's why it's free.

We run into that rather often as well here. Weird how if you just click on parameters, you may have to regenerate a toolpath. Anyone have an idea on this one?If you click on parameters by mistake and don't want to regen, cancel out instead of ok.
I am taking back my HP with Vista tonight. Way to many issues, bugs, and plain just don't works. I can buy a corp lease turn-in Dell M70 with warr for half the price and it will do everything I need.
That part I know. given that MC doesn't utilize multiple processors. this is my question.
Example:
generate an advanced 5 axis path on an extreme single core. generate same path on a duo 2 core. generate same path on a quad core. no other apps running. what difference is there if any. The reason I am asking is here.
Thanks for any input guys.
John,
I know the quads are designed for multitasking. Is there a loss when running a single app (i.e.: MC or Solidworks) when compared to a duo or single?
Thanks
Make sure everyone has there own seperate config file. right click the MC icon and select properties. each person sould then add there config file name to the Target line (ex.: C:mcamxmastercam.exe example.config), plus any switches you r using. this will pull up each persons indvidual configs for them on start-up. We are perilously close to a TOS violation here ie no discussions of pricing policies.gcode,
I was not refering to prices at all. I stated that we were told verbally the policy change but never in writing. Since this is a topic that I would think a reseller or CNC could clear up easily, I am curious why nobody has chimed in.

Bogus, do you have any idea if an SLI- dual card setup will improve things for us Open GL users, or it only good for gaming? From what I have seen and read, no. sli has alot to do with detail and frame rates. for intense gaming it refreshes faster for a more realistic gaming experience. One test i saw showed an old agp quadro card out perform a new sli geforce on a cad benchmark. HTH

I realize this is an MR2 chat, but with the pending X3, hopefully in 1st quarter 2008, I have 'heard' that it will completely revolution MC again. More so, the lathe stuff will become alot simpler, the post structure will change incredibly and alot of the 'headaches' that us poor lathe people suffer, should fall away with it....
So says the person I was talking with. =]
ahhh....finely, I didn't want to be the first to say it.

Many a shop has been built on those "inferior" machines. That said, I'm glad to be done with them.
Gimme our Niigatas, Toyodas, and Mitsui's any day.
Come and take our toyoda, PLEASE.
somename75,
Glad it helped.
Chris,
I agree. Some older machines (like an old Leadwell I sometimes run) don't have enough memory and is a pain to DNC. I'll use some canned cycles to fit it into the memory with one program. On our newer hardinges and moris i can repost and transfer just as fast or faster than hand editing at the control.
