  1. Actualy the program will start if you build a little macro in your post If vatol=1 n1 t1 m6 n1 go g15 hi x y s m
  2. its called no next tool m69 maybe I dont have a manual here
  3. yeah macro is the way to go then. It does get tricky though becase programming 1 face at a time can be a huge waste of time for large quanities, because sometimes when you are at B0 you also want to mill the left side of B90 and the right Side of B270 to save rotation time. If this is a repeating job it might be worth the time!
  4. Jim I think you are right on with the 100k here it will keep someone loyal to you! here it is so easy to contract for $100 to $120 hour here in washington but with no stability or loyalty. When I came here from my last place it was amazing how fast they were willing to pay alot of money for me to stay but why didnt they do that before I left. Lights out in 6 - 7 months I think you shouldnt have to quit to get a raise. (if you are doing a good job for them) if someone doesnt work out for you though dont hang on to them to long thinking they will get better it usually isnt the case. Also you need to be willing to listen a support the person you hire for a position like that, it is frustrating to have your hands tied when trying to do this sort of project.
  5. surface finish contour will probably be what you are looking for
  6. Louie you are correct there I forgot to add you need to slow rpm way down. The first time I tried was on a 3 start thread and I forgot to chande the rpm the insert did not like that much.
  7. I use to use a thinbit less then the thickness of root, use the standard thread cyle move my ref in z out 1/2 the pitch and program 1 theard pitch deep.
  8. good point Ron guess I just thought they would be using the right tooling
  9. after rough leave .15 a side the finish the wall stepping down in an uneven pattern. like .25 deep on one side then .5 on the other and keep the overlap all the way down to support the opposite sides cut
  10. Jim I dont know if I would get to excited about kit's I would check with current customers around our area we had 2 where I use to work and they were down alot. There is such a variety Toyoda, nigatta, makino, mori, mazak, okuma, are all top notch. many choices and options.
  11. "Centerline programming is like programming from the pub down the street" this is true if you are sloppy with your planning and tooling. if your tombs are pinned, ball locked, techni grip. model everything correctly the part should be exactly where you think it is! I still use offsets for the faces incase minor adjustments are needed. But I can put any job pretty much on any tomstone "consider side clearance" on any face without operator errors and crashed machines or scrapped parts. Part of a programmers job is planning and ease of setups there are error free!
  12. Jim I really like to see shops investing in americas future we were once a great producer and I think we still should be if people would open there eyes I still think we can produce a part as cheap as anyone with the right equipment and people I have seen at least 3 small shops here in washington go with this modern form of thinking and they are doing amazing. I feel I do know many machines and of course you can always have each dealer to a runoff for your specific needs to. control options, tool magazine size, cell controller, probing, tool length measure, tool life management, load monitoring, just some of the considerations but Colin is right on vericut will help and save you time and money. Accra verifys 100% of there code as many other shops are doing now. Oh and yes full 4th is not even a question it is a must today.
  13. I am not sure but 5ax path including surface it retracts no matter what settings and it retracts to the highest of the 3 / clearance retract
  14. Ron I got through a couple boxes last night and did not find his name yet but I will I will finish tonight 3 boxes left I know I am a pack rat but you never know when you need info you have collected
  15. hey ron this is a single spindle 2 turret right no sub spindle?
  16. I doubt it I think he could help you with the post though it has been awhile since I talked to him but I think I can find his info, I have everything in boxes in my garrage from my applications years with Okuma I just have to find it. Maybe he was hand editing but I dont think so I was working with him at a customer and I am pretty sure he just posted and ran it.
