  1. Hey Don, Did you use the red X to try and exit out of verify? For some reason I have seen that if you do X doesn't like it sometimes and will lock verify up. Also if you accidentally hit a function icon while verify is open it can lock up. I have made it a habit now to always use the green check to get out. You may have something else going on, just wanted to let you know what I'd seen.
  2. Thanks all, and Cascadeclimbr that is what I want to do as long as computer and control work together. Don't know if it will yet, they didn't have cable run.
  3. Just wondering if anyone is using Cimco to send to a new Haas VF4 via ethernet? I would like to get a screen shot of the main page and port settings for a reference if possible. Thanks
  4. Easy there Thad, What goes on between you two ain't none uh my business. Just kiddin.
  5. Thad, you guy's here aren't to bad either. That's why I'm not embarrassed to ask here before I have to ask Jimmy. Jimmy would help if I asked but trying to do this one on my own first. But got stuck. Thanks for the help Don.
  6. You need to open the parameters tab, check the rotary button and open it, pick c-axis rotation type and then ok , ok. Regenerate the path and you should see your path.
  7. I am trying to get a post modified for a Daewoo Puma C-axis lathe with a Fanuc 21ITB control. I have started with MPLFAN.pst in version 9. Problem 1- When trying to do a face contour toolpath it posts like this O0000 G20 G0 T0101 M23 G0 G54 X1.38 Z.1 C0. M9 G97 S2500 M52 G98 G1 Z-.0049 F6.16 C-180. F511.58 Z-.0099 C0. C-180. Z-.0148 C0. C-180. Z-.0197 C0. C-180. Z-.0246 C0. C-180. Z-.0296 C0. the trouble is that it should be outputting a -360 or it will not run correctly. I tried several other c-axis post and all output code the same way. The customer would like to have a continuing c-axis movement like this. O0000 G20 G0 T0101 M23 G0 G54 X1.38 Z.1 C0. M9 G97 S2500 M52 G98 G1 Z-.0049 F6.16 C-360. F511.58 Z-.0099 C0. C-360. Z-.0148 C0. I tried to change it here but had no luck. c_axistype : 0 #1 = C axis winds-up, 2 = C axis signed absolute I also tried to change it in the A column here with no luck. #Columns- ABCDEFGH.IJKLMNOPQ #Turret/Spindle #Path Type scase_tl_c1 10000222.000000000 #Top turret/Left spindle, Turning cut scase_tl_c2 11000012.000000000 #Top turret/Left spindle, Right Face cut scase_tl_c_2 11110012.000000000 #Top turret/Left spindle, Left Face cut scase_tl_c3 10010102.000000000 #Top turret/Left spindle, Cross cut scase_tl_c4c 10000111.000000000 #Top turret/Left spindle, Y axis subs. The same tool is used for all 3 grooves. I have tried changing the WCS settings in the post and cannot get this to stop. When using same tool the customer does not want to generate a new work offset. Thanks in advance for any help.
  8. Go to toolpaths, drill toolpath, use mask on arc to select all of 1 size of arcs at once, start by picking mask on arc button, pick one arc, now using mouse put window around all the holes of that size , move cursor to top left side of drawing and pressand hold left mouse button now move mouse to make window around all holes of that size and let go of left mouse button and press it again to set window, all the holes of that size should be highlighted now, now hit enter key to project toolpath, if path is not in a good order hit the sort button to set the order in which the holes will be drilled, when it it looks good hit green check to finish.
  9. I think since it's new they want to see everything working correctly. It may be that is what has to happen but I would like to try and see if we can figure out what is going on for future reference to other customers and others here if they run into it.
  10. He said it would read lines fine but would not read arcs.
  11. Let me get a copy coming and I'll send it to you as quick as I get it.
  12. Have a customer with a Friar machine with Anillam 6000 control. When he brings in a MCAM X dxf file to let the controlconvert it to code it will not read the dxf. Friar has told him the geometry has no thickness and can't read it. I know you can make geometry wider but Iknkow of no way to make it thicker and neither did QC. Has anybody out there had this problem? And if so did you figure out a solution? Thanks in advanced for any help?
  13. Here is a link with some tools I have used with good success on different types of plastic. Onsrud Tooling
  14. Don helped me get it straightened out. Thanks guy's for the help.
  15. I am looking for some help with an Agie Wire post for X. I have updated post from 9 which worked fine. But now I am getting alarms. Not sure what's going on. Tried new Agie post that comes with X and it does same thing. See example below. % N100 M63 N110 G01 X+676500 Y-200666 G40 N120 D01 S101 T00 Q+000000 G43 S REGISTER TOO HIGH ****************here T REGISTER TOO LOW ****************here N130 G01 X+000000 Y+200666 G44 N140 G01 X-020000 Y+000000 G40 Thanks for any and all help.
  16. You might want to give your reseller a call, sounds like your not using the right post for that machine.
  17. Here is the Mastercam site about Catia 5 translator. Import translator for Catia 5 is now available. Mastercam It is an add on so you will need to get with your local reseller to purchase.
  18. Yea all the trouble was in the G19 plane arcs, what was weird is that the updated X post code alarmed and gouged the part and the old pre- updated one didn't, while the code looked the same. Both were just out putting J with no K because it shouldn't need the K because it wasn't changing. But after making the modified X post output the K it worked correctly.
  19. Just a heads up in case anyone else runs across this. Well I finally got it fixed but not sure yet why it was going crazy. I modified an MPAN5300 post to work on this control. I noticed MPAN5300 was using J and K for arcs, whereas the old MPCRU14 post that worked fine before updating to X used only J and worked fine. By forcing the K it stopped alarms and got rid of the gouging problem. Still unsure why thou, because comparing old MPCRU14 post code to updated X MPCRU14 code looked the same but sure didn't run the same.
  20. Going by what quite a few here on the forum say and the Dell Mastercam page Quadro seems to be one of the best for Mastercam. I personally use an ATI, but do not have to run massive surface, solids, and/or large multi axis toolpaths that often so it's not a problem. Do a search on graphics and there should be a lot of info to read thru from other members of this forum.
  21. Sorry Jaz, I jumped the gun. After re-reading I realize your talking about op default instead of tool library default.
  22. I had trouble the first time too, I changed in configuration, ops and still didn't fet it to stick. Pick the machine you want to set the default tool library for. Now you also have to go to machine definition page, open (edit general machine parameters)button up top of window, now pick tool/materials library, set file type to tool library, then go select the library you created. Save out to main page. Close out of MCAM and re-open, now try it and see if itdefaults coreectly to your new default.
