  1. with your file open hit the verify button, opeb the verify configuration button(the ylloe button under verbose check box), it is in miscellaneous options.
  2. Have you tried turning off true solids in verify to see if that helps. it may skew the angle when it runs but you should still be able to look at the verification of the part. This has helped on some lathe verify problems. also in settings configuration screen you can try to uncheck "use free mode in dynamic spin" this helps on some 4-axis verify problems.
  3. here is alink that talks about this. color printing
  4. I just went trough creating a tool and numbered it t11 then went to param page and set dia. and legth offsetss to 11. saved as junk. it saved with no problems. have you tried to save it to a empty library that doesn't already contain tools of the same number. it may be conflictingwith the one already there with that number.
  5. if you have a good mastercam mill background the transition to router should be fairly simple, the biggest thing is the difference in feeds and speeds of router materials(wood, acrylic, mdf, plastic).
  6. bring up your backplot toolbar, pick the arrow down button in the upper left corner, this opens the box all the way up, pick the info tab at the bottom, now play your backplot and it should show you your time.
  7. What software are you using? You may want to try a system restore back to last week to see if the error goes away.
  8. on the desk top right click and go to properties, settings, advanced, troubleshoot, set hardware acceleration to 1 bar to right of none. o.k. out, now go to appearence, effects, turn off(use the following transition effects), o.k. out. Give this a shot and see if it helps.
  9. Congratulations Emastercam, this forum is awsome because of the vast knowledge of the members. Thanks to all.
  10. Just to be sure, do you do have the Mastercam Solids add on package? If not the manipulation of solids in mastercam is no longer supported in version X without adding the solids package. You can however bring solids in as a parasolid, in the file open, files of type box, pick parasolids, pick the option box beside file type parasolid, and choose to bring the solid in as a trimmed surface, you can then manipulste the surfaces.
  11. If you are trying to bring in a solid and do not have the solids upgrade there is a solution if you can save the original as a parasolid. Once you get your parasolid file you can go to file/open/parasolids/open options box next to parasolids/check import as trimmed surfaces/ok. Now you will be able to manipulate the surfaces as needed.
  12. I would definitely leave version 9 on till you get comfortable with the new interface of Mcam X. This will allow for a smoother transition and more importantly no downtime of production.
  13. Do you have your graphics acceleration turned down and do you have transition effects turned of? If not go to desktop/right mouse click/properties/settings/advanced/troubleshoot/now put slide bar 1 position to right of none/ok/appearance/effects/uncheck transition effects. Give this a try, if it doesn't help you may have go to the other driver.
  14. Go to desktop and right click in it to bring up menu, pick properties/settings/advanced/troubleshoot/move hardware acceleration slider to 1 bar to the right of none/ok/appearance/effects/uncheck the transition effects box/ok/apply/ok this should take care of it.
  15. It wouldn't hurt to also turn off transition effects. ON you desktop right click >> Properties >> appearence >> effects >> uncheck transition effects
  16. Have you tried to do a system restore to a point before the new install? This might allow you to go back and back up your original files then reinstall MR1.
  17. That is a very valid point. I had it with a batch of 3/8 compression cutters once. Come to find out the grind in this batch was different than the ones I usually got. Tooling companies have the same employee turn over problems as the rest of us.
  18. Another option is to reverse the direction of your cut. Sometimes this can help with the pressure but make sure cut quality is still o.k. If nothing else helps you may need to have maitenance check the spindle for excessive vibration(bearing going out, etc.). This can definitly cause cutter brekage in small dia. tooling.
  19. Ah.. a downcut, I missed it. It might help to try a compression cutter. This may put less pressure on the bit than the downcut, but still give you the clean cut you need. Also make sure you have plenty of vaccum under the grill to prevent vibration. Poor vaccum is another culprit sometimes in machining small parts.
  20. Also are you using an upcut, downcut, or compression cutter?
  21. Is it breaking on a straight move or in a corner? If in the corner, you may want to slow down your feed rate just before get to corner, then speed back up as you come out of it. If that doesn't help you may need to make 2 passes, as a .75 depth cut puts a lot of pressure on the bit even thou you are only cutting .05.
  22. The Trainig Tutorials in the book section above are the ones we use in our traing classes. They are a very good books to start out with. They will get you use to most of the icons and steps you will use in creating, toolpathing, and posting. They do not cover every single icon but a book that did would be a lot more expensive I'm sure.
