  1. For RandyN, No one has a problem with your comments, but when the people here give you things to try it's a way of us trying to eliminate different things that could be the problem. "butI refuse to turn my hardware acceleration off or to the first notch" If we can't get to the core problem by the process of elimination then it's hard for people 500-1000 miles away to help you. Once you try something that helps then you can go to QC with what you had to do to fix it and maybe it can be solved on the next maintenance or service pack release. And if it does fix it by doing this for now at least you are up and going till it does get addressed. I hate that Randle feels this way because IMHO I feel some small problem with his pc or network is going to make him rob himself of a great programming package.
  2. Networking is still a hit and miss deal sometimes. When I was a customer of Mastercam, it sometimes took me 10 minutes to save a simple 2d drawing because of the massive firewall set up by the IT department. You talk about aggrevation. But we have some customers doing huge 3d solid modeling that have no trouble with their network. Keep up the good work and hang in there and hopefully soon the guys here can help you get on the smooth path.
  3. RandyN, Go to desktop and right click in it to bring up menu, pick properties/settings/advanced/troubleshoot/move hardware acceleration slider to 1 bar to the right of none/ok/appearance/effects/uncheck the transition effects box/ok/apply/ok Hopefully this will take care of it.
  4. Have you tried saving the .mcx and .nci to your hard drive and working from there till done? Then backing up to the network.
  5. When it is released, you will need to Download Autodesk Inventor View 11. This will allow you open the Inventor 11.ipt files straight into Mastercam X. I tried it on the Beta version it works fine.
  6. in MCAM X have your machine type picked for this machine, go to machine typ, control definitions, arcs, and you will see the different arc defaults for the machine this is where you would need to make your changes like turning off the helix and selecting arc output type.
  7. That's odd to have two different type arc output types on the same machine. Unless someone else here has an idea, I suggest contacting your reseller, you may need to work thru them to resolve the problem.
  8. What is the code for arc type on that machine? It could be I's and J's(delta start to center), R's(radius). See if you have any old programs with arcs for that machine and see what you have. If you can't find you may need to call the manufacturer with machine serial number too see if they have it on file and can tell you. Or just do a simple program with several arcs using each of the arc types and dry run too see which works correctly. Once you have figured out which type it is you need to change the arc output type in the arc folder of the control definition for that machine, you may need to create a new machine to do this from your old one.
  9. Have you tried turning your graphics acceleration down? If not, right click on the desktop, properties, settings, advanced, troubleshoot, move acceleration slider bar to 1 position to the right of none, ok, appearence, effects, turn off use the following transition effects button. This may or may not have any effect but it will eliminate it if it isn't the fix. Let us know. Is this Concord, N.C. your from? If so were your reseller so give us a call if problem persists or someone here doesn't help you first.
  10. Settings, configuration, screen, there are check boxes on the right to toggle the viewport and wcs axes on/off.
  11. Sorry, didn't even notice it was your post. You may have already tried this but check in the options box beside files of type after you pick Iges, see if there is anything in the masking that may help you. I know it will be a pain to have to save all the old files as something else just to open in MCAM X. Unfortunatly it may be the only option.
  12. Here is a link to a previous post about the problems with IGES translation. Iges Translation Trouble
  13. go to machine type, control definitions, operation defaults, in the large center window hit the olus sign in front of properties, pick tool settings, at the bottom next to materials hit select, change source to mill library, pick the material you want to use as default, now hit the green check mark to save, do this till you come all the way out. Now your default for that machine is set. you need to do this for each machines control def.
  14. go to settings, configuration, post processing, now set the file extension to what you want it to be .txt, .nc, or whatever you want.then hit green check mark to save and exit. Welcome to the forum.
  15. You may need to do a repair insatall to see if it cures the problem. Same as an install but just pick repair instead of full install. If this doesn't fix you may want to do a fresh install. It may have hickupped if anything was running in background while you were trying to fix the defaults. Not the favorite solution I know but may get you back up and going without the errors.
  16. Each of the ways above is better than bringing in as an IGES for now. There are still some quirks when bringing in some parts with IGES. They are being addressed for MR2 but I would stay away for now. And welcome to the forum. You will find all the people here very helpful with practically all your questions. They are a very knowledgable group and usually will have you an answer to most questions in minutes. Thanks again to everyone on the forum.
  17. Looks like were both having trouble typing today.
  18. oops, that is the bottom of the window
  19. hit the arrow down button in the upper left corner of the backplot window and look at the boom of the window.
  20. Hello Ke, good to hear from you. Sorry about the late response I,ve been out of the office a couple of days. It'll be good to see you again.
  21. change graphics view to front and put window around only the level you want to pick. You could use dynamic view also.
  22. Me, Katie, and Jimmy are supposed to be there. Swing by and say hey. Hope to see some more of you there.
  23. check the book section at the top of the page. the x wire tutorial from In-Hose Solutions is a good one to start with. your local reseller should be able to get it for you pretty quick.
