  1. How do you then control your 5X feedrates? Inverse time feed or feedrate leveling through CAMplete?
  2. Of course it is. With no A or C movements G43.4 is basically just doing the tool length compensation and therefore you could just as well use G43. That way you're sure that you don't end up using some cycle which might conflict with TCPC as this function has some limitation in supported cycles/functions.
  3. In case of 3+2 like in your example you should use normal G43 instead of G43.4
  4. G43.4 L0 will only turn Smooth TCP off. TCP will still be on until you command a G49. Only use TCP for 4X and 5X simultaneous work. For all other tasks G68.2 is the way to go. With G68.2 you can still use all normal 2D cycles ( hole cycles and cutter comp )
  5. 1. Yes G68.2 and G43.4 will compensate for ANY XYZ adjustment and you can also move your C-axis datum. Only need for G54.4 is if the AB rotation of the part is off. 2. Yes I guess AI-NANO is the highest Fanuc highspeed level so you can use this for all operations. For 5X simultaneous you might also want to use the highspeed smooth TCP like Jeremy mentioned and the tool posture control G43.4 L1 ( Smooth TCP ) P3 ( Tool posture control with smoothing) L1 is smoothing of the vectors them self to remove jerks. Tool posture control ( P1 and P3 ) forces the tool to follow a ruled surface from one G1 point + vector to the next. P3 over P1 adds a smoothing to the complete path ( G1 path + vector path ) G43.5 is TCP based on IJK vectors while G43.4 is TCP based on machine angles. With G43.4 you can from the post define B+ or B- travel of the head ( in case your machine has both options ) With G43.5 the machine chooses B+ or B- depending what's closest to the current position, meaning you've less control. In fact the manual from Jeremy is wrong. High-speed Smooth TCP (type 2) should read G43.5 and not G43.4 ( type 1) Only benefit with type 2 is that you can use same program on different machine kinematic. E.g. AC table on one machine and BC table on another.
  6. Use G54.4 WSEC for fixture error. ( Only needed in case the part rotation is off. XYZ position isn't needed to be corrected with the 2 following codes ) G68.2 for all 2D, 3D, 3+2 G43.4 for all 5X simultaneous ( inverse time feed isn't needed as the TCPC command applys the programmed feedrate at the tool tip ) For highspeed command I would just go for the highest level.   7. If you buy in the States from Methods every single Matsuura 5X is bundled with a seat of CAMplete. Every dealer has their own way to do it. In Denmark 3D model is also optional. The smart customer remembers to include it in the order for the machine.
  8. You should have no problem ordering the 3D model from you reseller. Matsuura has a fixed price for this.

  10. Thank you for all your input. We ended up ordering a Mikron HPM 450U with 20k spindle, 7 pallet magasine and 120 ATC. Looking forward to get this new toy in April next year.
  11. 2D area mill is the old style pocket toolpath which many times lead to some fullwidth cut during opening of the pocket. 2D dynamic area mill is the new style with sort of wave like pattern which NEVER over engage the tool.
  12. Thanks Greg, sounds like an good idear. DD motors for 4/5th axis is on my wishlist, but it's not that common on machines in the size we're looking at.
  13. According to my intel the 42V will be phased out next year. Price vise it's to close to the updated 63V. But I really like the 300x300 pallet size. The new 35V just shown at JIMTOF is also a nice machine but here I find the pallet size too small.
  14. I know the Matsuura and have seen the MAM72-42V, but this model lacks the full Thermal Meister package and therefore only has thermal compansation in Z axis. Therefore the machine will need a warmup periode go get the Y axis in the right spot each moring. Any one with expirence with the Makino D500? Thermal drift from cold to warm.
  15. I saw a machine demo or their 5X auto tuning. It was very impersive. First they ran the tuning. Aftwards they put a special tool in the spindle with 3 bluetooth indicators ( XYZ on it ), zero them, moved the table around with TPC on. All the time all 3 measurements was within 0.003mm. Does the MU-400 have enough Y-axis storke working at A-90? The Z axis slide looks huge and the spindle has little protrusion from the Z-axis. I'm woried that I need a too high fixture for having the Z-axis clearing the table that I'll be too close to the Y endstop.
  16. Hi My company is close to purchasing our first 5X machining centre. Our top demand is accuracy. We've narrowed down the field to: Mikron HPM 450U Okuma MU-400VA Anyone here with expirence with the above models? Or perhaps input on missing candidates. Best regards Mic
  17. I thought the DFO was G54.2 and WSEC G54.4? By the way, I've used TCPC for table/table machines for years now and can't see any problem using it over WSEC. And with TCPC you don't need to run inversed time feedrate or leveling of the feedrate.

  19. We've a Okuma MA-600HB with the OSP200 controller. Operator is complaning over TxxM6 alarms if Txx is already in the spindle. I'm quite sure I read about a soultion for this some years ago in here but now I can't find the thread. Can anyone guide me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.
  20. Hi Moving to a new company soon. They're looking at a small MillTurn center. Does any one have expirence with either Willemin Macodel or Bumotec? http://www.willemin-...ault.asp?ID=812 http://www.bumotec.c...inesEN/s191.php Both are from Switzerland and look very similar. One perhaps a copy by some former workers.
  21. I sure do. I like to prove out programs before bringing them to the machine. Does the Okuma simulation "only" offer real time simulation or does it also have a "turbo mode"? How fast is it compared to Vericut? Can it do feedrate optimization? (Optipath) All machine simulation takes a little to setup every time. During this time the machine control is blocked. So unless you can plan your time so you only do it while the machine is running you'll end up with more downtime on the machine compared to the Vericut solution.
  22. 6 core 2.0GHz doesn't sound very fast. I've a 6 core i7-3930K @ 3.2GHz 12Mb cache in my home rig. And it wasn't expensive. In XEON model range a E5-1650 should be similar. Take a look here: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html
