Yup, it never brings the right.STL file in either. Every time I open a file I have to wait for it to load the wrong stl and then point it to the right one. Annoying as hell and a big waste of time when I get to the 5th or 6th operation the stl's take forever to load.

Can't you just project the geometry on the surface? I've done it a few times and it looked good. I guess it depends on how curved your surface is.

There are/were 4 major softwares allowing Windows or windows apps to run on macs. This is an article from the beginning of the year that describes them and their support/features. Obviously they have all been improved with several updates by now. By these #'s I'd say Bootcamp or VMware Fusion would be the best choice however they may all be much closer in specs by now. http://www.macworld.com/2007/04/features/w...intro/index.php You can even run Windows 3.1!!! (The only version of Windows my wife liked. lol)

grrrr, I can't find the thread. There was a thread where someone was using a mac for UG or Pro-E and maybe Mastercam and they were running great. Maybe it got deleted.

next Mac I buy WILL be running MasterCAM. I have spoken to a few running MasterCAM so it can be done however..... for the time being,there will still be support issues as stated above. Maybe not a good Idea for your only box just yet. It'll take time but They WILL come around and crossover to the darkside after all, it's just better. OSX is Unix based just as Linux is. IMHO, either one would be MUCH better than anything Microshaft comes up with. Mac and linux users are on the rise. Do a search, there should be a thread or two around.

yup, Right click in op manager, select undelete. only works right after your mistake. As mentioned above,if you do anything else before you undelete.....your screwed. Also you can refer to your backup files as long as you have it enabled. This has saved my arse more than a few times. If you don't have your backup turned on You'd better turn it on. It's only a matter of time.

My problem may have been a different animal though. For me Mastercam would start up but my ops manager was empty. I thought I lost my toolpaths but the funny part is, if I ran backplot they were still there. tried changing colors and stuff...nothing could bring it back. As soon as I hit verify it would crash every time. I could open and use the files fine in MR1 too. Side by side install. man I'm glad I did that.

After the uninstall it was still beat. I guess it already hosed the config. I then replaced the config and ..... I'm back!

Rakesh, That is the exact same problem I had. I uninstalled the recent Winblows hot fixes and replaced my config file with my backup . If you don't have a backup, delete it and let Mastercam create a new one.You'll just have to reset your settings HIH -Mike

yup! I would suggest following Murlin's advice. After my Winblows updates somehow my config file got hosed. Luckily I keep a backup copy handy for situations like this.(It's a real pain in the arse to re-check all the settings that are hidden all over the place if you have make a new one. I would recommend doing the same. It saves a lot of grief in the end. It worked for me !! good luck!

Please help, I just installed Patch 2 for X2 MR2 and loaded the above Ai_Utility and it will not let me change my Op manager background color. The worst part is.... it's stuck with White on White! When I middle button click in the op manager I only get 2 options: 1 PRMDEF 2 rename nc name to mcx name It still works fine for MR1 Any Ideas? I did also update windows.

What video card are you using? I had similar trouble in The early versions of MCamX. Make sure you are using a driver that is recommended by you reseller. I've had driver issues a couple times when after upgrading. -

You have to move/copy your c-hooks to the MR2 directory from your previous version's directory.

#2 for Surfaces and #10 for wire frame. lighter colors make the wire frame stand out on the darker surfaces
