  1. Click on the diameter or radius button to lock the value. You'll know you did it because the button stays depressed and the background goes red on the entry field. Then all you have to do is place the center points of the circle/arcs. Any field with a button in the ribbon bars and some of the vertical dialog boxes have this capability.
  2. Not quite since the Dawn of time, but probably just before noon on the same day software was invented... But it is in X5
  3. Tough crowd... Since i don't have control over how difficult, or dangerous, something is to code all i can do is ask for the appropriate programmer to look into a problem to give us an idea how long something will take. That's why i almost never promise something will be in a release. But in this case i can tell you that it looks like there will be a switch in Alpha 1 of X5. At the same time i am pretty confident that there WILL NOT be an undo button added to this function.
  4. We are looking into adding a switch for X5 just as you all have asked for.
  5. Scott is correct, propogate is for attributes only. We have had some requests to allow for a geometric propogation as well, but not enough to push other changes aside.
  6. Eric, The double-click functionality works fine here. Both in X4 and the pre-release of X4 MU. Is it happening on all parts? Send me what you've got and i'll try it.
  7. I think i'm seeing a theme here... Obviously the intention of the change was to be helpful to everyone, (Similar to how filleting works) not just new users. During testing we did find and fix a lot of cases that produced the stupid Zero length entity errors. I would ask that you send us samples where these errors still occur, along with a video of how you produced it. If you don't have some sort of video recorder there is a free one called Jing, that is put out by TechSmith - http://www.jingproject.com/ - I would rather user programmer time to try to resolve problems and make it work reliably for everyone then to use it to make a way to disable the functionality.
  8. This is a very interesting thread from my point of view... Of the pieces of Mastercam Design that you do use, which area should get more development attention from us? 1. Wireframe (Lines, arcs, splines) 2. Surfaces 3. Solids 4. Drafting
  9. The number is stored in the MRU drop-down for that field. You can control how many numbers to remember in config.
  10. FYI... - X4 MU will warn the user if it's about to overwrite a previous version MCX file, and give you the option to cancel so you can make sure you have a backup. - X5 will change the file extension to MCX-5 so there is no confusion.
  11. Jay, Good question to ask. Space is always a big consideration when we are designing interfaces. So far it looks like 1/3 of users are still running on a single monitor standard resolution monitor.
  12. Very strange problem indeed... I suspect you have some memory issues, but where and why is just guess work. The next time this happens you might try regenerating the display list to see if things show up. - You say restarting X4 cures the problem, but for how long? - Are you performing anything consistently before the problem shows up? - Shading, Verify, Backplot, Toolpath creation, etc. - Open the levels manager, do the new entities show up in the entity count even if you don't see them on the screen? If not use the right-click to refesh the list.
  13. I think Ron hit the nail on the head here. Also you might check any favorites you may have created in the column to the right. If it's a file path problem as Ron suggested you can clear it up by going into Config, File settings and setting the File MRU value to 1. Save the Config, do a File Open and load a file. Then go back to Config and reset the MRU to 10, or whatever you use and it should clear out any paths that are causing the long search.
  14. Technically Dynamic Xform is just find a bug caused elsewhere. The problem is actually being caused by running Backplot or Wireframe toolpaths first. We are looking into some ideas that might fix it pretty easily. Keep your fingers crossed. Stay tuned...
  15. I'm especially curious about Gcode setting his Undo buffer size lower...
  16. Guys, I just stumbled across this thread and the one linked to it... We are working on some Level Manager improvements for X4 right now so we have a programmer in the code and working on it. The problem can only be fixed IF we can make it happen it here. What we need are some clues as how to duplicate it. Can anyone give me a sequence of steps that duplicate the problem on a regular basis?
  17. It comes down to the case of trying to stuff 10 pounds of "stuff" into a 5 pound bag, it won't all fit. Maintaining 2 different functions that have such a large amount of functional overlap becomes very impractical. Much of the smarts and approach in FBM Drill came from Solid Drill, but FBM drill has a lot more to offer. FBM drill is where our development efforts are heading with more enhancements coming in X4 and beyond. That's why it's important to know what you find lacking in FBM drill that Solid Drill already does.
  18. FYI - Even though Solid Dril is no longer a menu option in X3, you can import a Solid Drill operation from X2 and use it to create the points you want in X3. (We left this back-door in just in case we missed something important.) This option has been added back into X4 based on your comments. If you find anything else missing let us know as soon as you find it since we will be entering into X4 Beta sometime in November. Thanks,
  19. Editing the defaults are also accessable by opening the Machine Group Properties, going to the Files page, and selecting the edit button (The !).
  20. We never considered a switch to exclude through holes... To make easier for yourself you can click on the column header for blind holes, this will group all of the blind holes together, then select the through holes using Shift, and suppress or delete then from the list all together.
  21. Yes, the ability to create and use favorites is accesable for both File Save, Save as and Open in X3.
  22. Sorry about that Thad, i was looking in X3 not X2-MR2 when i answered the question. As for your other question, i don't know one way or another if we will add a separate STL path back in or not in the future.
  23. The new File interface should do what you want without adding more options. When you are prompted to save an STL file go to the favorites area of the file Open/Save dialog, right-click and create a new shorcut. Name it what you want, and place it where you want in the list. Remember that this dialog is now resizable. Then when you are prompted to save the STL file you can click on the favorites folder.
  24. From time to time we find ourselves spending too much time working on the "issue dujour" and let the real needs get out of focus a bit. This survey is just intended to help us see where we are compared to where you need us to be so we can plan better. It's too bad no one asked about parameterics, i've heard that some people like it. BTW - The Sweatshirts can be purchased through your dealer if you really want one.
