  1. Thanks 3rd, I see were both from Cincy. Who ya workin for?
  2. Congratulations! It does mean Keep it simple stupid. You guys passed my lil test.
  3. KISS = keep it small & simple. To me a forum for each area MC offers would be the absolute maximum. Please don't ruin this one by making it like CNC Zone, that thing is unbelievable.
  4. First off I have read the FAQ. I'm having trouble saving files to the ftp. If I try to save a picture by draging it, internet explorer just opens the pic and if I try to drag a model or other file, it asks me if I want to open or save the file. The save option only lets me save it to my PC. What am I doing wrong?
  5. Actually...this is what is in my post. code: pmisc2$ #Canned Rigid Tapping Cycle pdrlcommonb #RH/LH based on spindle direction pbld, n$, sg95, e$ pbld, n$, sm29, *speed, e$ if met_tool$, pitch = n_tap_thds$ #Tap pitch (mm per thread) else, pitch = 1/n_tap_thds$ #Tap pitch (inches per thread) pcan1, pbld, n$, *sgdrlref, *sgdrill, pxout, pyout, pfzout, pcout, prdrlout, *pitch, !feed, strcantext, e$ pcom_movea
  6. Look for this switch in your post. code: use_pitch : 1 #0 = Use feed for tapping, 1 = Use pitch for tapping
  7. Apps Guy I'm willing to show my ignorance...what is MMT?
  8. I wouldn't know I don't use high speed toolpaths, All of my work is 2D.
  9. I would love to be able to set my speed and feeds like the cutting tool manufactures present it. ie SFM and IPT vs RPM and FPM
  10. Most of the time all you need to do is use G95 to switch to IPR and give the feed in IPR, then G94 to switch back to IPM when done tapping.
  11. Get a USB hub or extension cable. Works great for me.
  12. I have a Mori Seiki MV55 with a fanuc 16iMA control and I can't remember the parameters to ignore a tool change if that tool is already in the spindle. Anybody remember these. I set keeper relay K7.3 but there must be something else I'm missing.
  13. Does your machine have through the spindle coolant? If so has it ever been turned on without the proper pull stud on the tool in the spindle? If this happens and your coolant isn't filtered to near 10 microns it can back up under pressure and work its way into your spindle bearings and reduce their life.
  14. DUH! thanks guys, that was so obvious I couldn't see it.
  15. What version are you running? Are your parts solids? There is a known bug in X when you copy operations. The copies tend to revert back to some of the original geometry. This drove me nuts for awhile.
  16. Yep thats what I'm doing now, but my parts are a family of parts and they have very subtle differences and I just turn on or off the posting of operations that i need, so putting them in dummy toolpath groups for local storage is not ideal but hey what is
  17. I know "ghosting" an operation causes it to not be posted, but is there a way to get mastercam to not backplot & verify ghosted operations as well?
  18. Thanks John. I have done that, but I have alot of older programs which were not set this way and we keep forgetting to change them. I was wondering if this would have anything to do with a more permanent solution? ret_on_indx : 1 #Machine home retract on rotary index moves, (0 = no, 1 = yes)
  19. Anybody got any ideas on how to ensure that force tool change never gets unchecked for all operations? Maybe something could be added to the post? A switch to lock all of them would be ideal.
  20. I have the SpaceMouse at home and the new SpaceNavigator at work, I bought both of them and can't imagine working without them. The SpaceNav is only $50 bucks, you can't go wrong!
  21. I have 2 Integrex machines and we haven't tried that, but I know Mazak has. I live less than 10 minutes from Mazak and I am over there all the time. Call them and ask.
  22. I'm new to horizontals and I need help understanding how to setup the work offsets. The machine is a mori seiki MH500. I want to use one work offset at the center of rotation of my pallet so I never have to change it but I'm not sure how all the pieces of the puzzle fit together. I need to do work on the left, right, and front of my parts. I have solids of my fixture and parts to work with. Any suggestions or preferably a program I could use as a sample.
  23. I have never used surfaces in Mastercam. Is there a magic, one button way to make surfaces on the entire solid?
