Re-numbering only works when your tool list is in consecutive order
I am aware of that, I just sometimes select all of the operations that use one tool and change the number. Anyway, I just can't seem to get it to screw up the way you described. This is a little worrisome to me, because you have way more experience than I do. I experimented with changing them through the Tool Manager as you did. The program looked good, as well as the posted code.
When I change the tool number, I select the operations and use "renumber tools". But I don't have 277 toolpaths!
But doing it your way from the Toolpath Manager, with "from tool" selected in the control, it works fine here.
I was considering getting a cheap laptop for editing relatively simple programs at the machine, to reduce trips to the programming room way in the back of the building.
Maybe an ASUS i5. I heard here to beware of the onboard Intel graphics. Can someone enlighten me? I realize a $2000 unit with nice Nvidia graphics would be ideal, but I'm on a budget, maybe $800 or so max. I'm talking mostly programs under 1 meg.
Thanks in advance.
If I don't have "roughing" enabled, depth cuts will not work. I just want it to enter the pre-drilled hole on center. X4 works fine with the same settings.
Anyone run into this yet?
Thanks
I couldn't find this in a search, but maybe I just didn't look in the right place, so forgive me.
Run ramsaver, select "no" on deleting duplicates, save file. Toolpath groups remain, but they are empty. Then the same thing happened when I did a Merge. In each case I had about 70-100 operations in 3 or 4 groups. My only clue was a virtual memory error in Verify. Can anyone help me here?

We have a winner! This is what I was looking for. I will try manipulating solids later, need to make chips today.
Thanks to all, really appreciate your help.
Not a solid. I always bring in step files as surfaces with lines, arcs, and splines.
I haven't even tried to work with solids yet, to be honest. Not sure when it would be beneficial.
Thanks a lot MCM.
I have a bunch of surface pockets on the slope of a dome shaped part. Now the customer wants smaller radii in the corners, but no new model of course. I'm having trouble figuring out how to do this without re-drawing the part.
I used surface finish scallop, start point in the middle. Works fine. I tried to chase it with a 3D contour, but I can't change the fillets in 3D.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.
I just installed an fx 580 and it seems to be working OK, but I was wondering which driver to use. I'm currently using Solidworks latest driver (based on advice from the forum) but I've seen here recently that the latest Nvidia driver may be the way to go. I switched from a 9800 GT Geforce and I'm not seeing that much difference. Any gurus here care to chime in?
Thanks in advance.
