  1. I have to respectfully disagree with the "gummy" part. We have an ongoing job with 5083 plate, and to me it machines similar to Mic 6. Other than that settings for 6061 work fine.
  2. Are you using the settings as is, or do you tweak some of the values?
  3. Does anyone know if this issue has been addressed?
  4. I have not tried Win 8 yet, but to be fair check out some of the comments after the article.
  5. I was able to use FreeFileViewer to look at it. It was just some XY coordinates. Friggin' engineer needed to justify his position I guess. Thanks anyway.
  6. Thanks Matthew. I wonder why the engineer sent them. He asked me to compare them with Solidworks files as if it was business as usual.
  7. Does anyone know how to open a filename.rz file? Thanks in advance.
  8. This is a constant source of frustration here. I had a part with 60 .236 dia. holes dimensioned +.0008/+.002. Needless to say the model had .236 diameters. The tolerance on the print was so small the "+" was just an ink splotch and appeared to be a "-". Of course I had no pdf of the print. Net result= pissed off people on both ends. They need to make engineers get dirty in a shop before they get a degree.
  9. I remember I had the most trouble with levels. Planes and WCS a close second.
  10. Threadmill should be one of the pre-defined tools, so you do not have to draw it.
  11. On my system it is in the "My MCAMX6" folder. Edit: Upon further review, there are only a few entries from June. Not sure which version I had at that point. I have X6MU2 now.
  12. Strange, here it runs the same depth for both settings. X6 MU2
  13. Keep in mind that carbide dust is toxic, so wear a mask if you do it by hand.
  14. We have 3 Omega 60's. I think they will turn around 55" or so. I don't run them, but I do know that the last 2 took 6 months to get due to high demand. Either that or they don't build them until they are ordered.
  15. I draw the right half of the tool. X, Y zero is center bottom. Tool is undefined, custom level. THREADMILL.MCX-6
  16. Just Yankee ingenuity- oh wait............!
  17. Excellent! Now that we're on the subject, how about multi-threading for 2D HST? I started a thread awhile back, got lots of support but no action. http://www.emasterca...ulti +threading
  18. +100000 This is exactly the way I do it.
  19. In X6 in File, Open, I set it to extra large icons so you can see what was on the screen the last time it was saved. This may not be what you are looking for, but it's very helpful to me.
  20. Thanks again, but you guys over there spell "colors" wrong!
  21. Thanks to all for the input. I think we will go with NCplot....can't beat having good support.
