  1. Still not working in X6 MU3. Constant source of frustration.
  2. I just ran into this the other day. My threadmill was showing in backplot but not Verify. I deleted the tool in Tool Manager, then grabbed it from my library and it worked. X6 MU3
  3. In 2D HST, the operation should not go dirty if I change a comment, feedrate, program name or number or sometimes even just look at the damn thing. This is especially aggravating when there are dynamic restmill operations that follow.
  4. I work about 40 minutes north of there. It is VERY expensive to live in that neighborhood. Also it's a horrible commute from just about anywhere. I tried driving down there once during commute hours and my 40 minutes turned into an hour and 15. That said, I have no idea what they are offering.
  5. +10000 Also Edit common parameters could use lead in/out, and Cut parameters in drill ops to name a couple.
  6. Good point about the runout. I am using an ER16 collet and it's tough to get it within .0005. Maybe I'll try 15IPM? As far as the depth, I think I should try deeper on the first pass, then smaller as it gets to the bottom where the tool is almost fully engaged. Thanks!
  7. This is in 304 SS, and I have 10K RPM. I'm using a Harvey Tool stubby 4 flute. I went .005 deep per pass at 12 IPM and got a fair amount of success, but very slow. Should I go deeper on the 1st pass? Faster feed? Thanks in advance
  8. Update- I got around the problem by going straight down the channels, and then finishing the areas between the bosses with dynamic restmill. Now it only takes a few minutes to process.
  9. I found some advice here that you can speed up the regen process by going into the task manager and ending the largest entry for "svchost.exe". This seems to work a bit but causes the screen to go nuts. Then I noticed that Mastercam was only using 13% of the resources. Is there a way to increase it?
  10. "I'm guessing here as well but perhaps joining some of those broken arcs, which would reduce the number of entities, may improve the crunch time some. " What broken arcs? It all chains good here, no duplicates or overlaps. Like This Quote MultiQuote Report
  11. OK, I'm going on almost 20 minutes now and it's still at 0%. Is the cheap video card slowing it down that much? I have Win 7 64 bit. Could it be an Nvidia setting? I just updated the driver and am using the default settings.
  12. Multi-threading in 2D high speed?? I've been asking for that for 2 years! Thanks for the help guys.
  13. Yes, but this is in titanium and the tools don't last taking a full cut. I just ran one and the endmill looks brand new still. I will have to go old school though if I can't speed things up. What is it about this particular program? I have had much larger files regen in a couple of minutes.
  14. I am having fits trying to speed up the regeneration of this file. I am going to have several more larger similar pieces, but this one takes over half an hour to regen. I am using an i7-860, 8 gb with an fx 580 card. Not the best obviously, but I have crunched much larger files in a fraction of the time it takes this one. What am I doing wrong? TOO SLOW.MCX-6
  15. Yes, I have version 6. I don't really need that small of a step anyway. I could use stock model, but I just wanted to go old school on this one. Quick and easy. When introduced the stock model it took about 3 minutes to regenerate, and I don't have a lot of patience at the moment. As far as the FTP, will it work with Firefox? I dumped everything IE.
  16. Thanks for the help. Not sure how to use stock model on this. All previous ops, the previous op, and roughing tool dia. are the only options I see.
  17. It's got something to do with the "all previous operations". I'm roughing with a 3/8, then coping the corners with a 3/16 before the 1/8. When I import the 3 operations to a new program, it works fine. There are 40 or so operations before these. No big deal. Not sure how to upload to the FTP with Firefox.
  18. When I set Max Rough Step to .011 in Depth cuts, it works fine. When I change it to .010 or less, it crashes. I am using a .125 dia. extended shank EM on a 1.5" deep pocket. I know there are issues with pocket remachining, so I'm using contour. Any ideas?
  19. Bob, I remember you from the 1995 "refuse to lose" Mariners! Great to see you are doing well. Great videos!
  20. I don't think so. It's 30% glass filled and apparently very brittle.
