  1. Same here. I'm tempted to go in the other direction.
  2. "<PerformanceIndexVerification>5</PerformanceIndexVerification> : is the start up "Default" setting of the speed that it verifies at (range 1-20) I have mine set at 20" Mine was set to 10. I wonder why it's different from yours.
  3. That is what the tool will look like if the flute length is longer than the shoulder length.
  4. Ninja, what RPM do you rough with? We have found that anything over 5-600 SFM with coolant gets heat fracture. Then again, we haven't used this cutter.
  5. Rich, I am having trouble using the cut away option. Could you describe it in a bit more detail? The "hide selected quadrants" feature doesn't seem to do anything. Thanks.
  6. I downloaded this: http://www.emasterca...showtopic=72028 (REX#1.MCX-6) My .mtb file was corrupted. It basically turned into the new one, which was icons splattered all over the screen. Luckily I had a backup on the server. I remember a similar event awhile back. Thoughts anyone? Thanks.
  7. Thanks guys. I had skillfully deleted the default file in the operation folder. All is OK now. Does this mean I get a "warning point"?
  8. All of a sudden my operation defaults in the Control Def. are empty. I even loaded Machine and Control defs from another computer, and still the same thing. I noticed that the files in the shared mcamx6 folder have a lock on the icons for the control-6 files. What is going on? Thanks in advance.
  9. It will highlight if you chain the center point. Either way works.
  10. When I import an operation, I'd like the path to be whatever I used last- usually "Mastercam X Files", and not VX Operation Files . I think it's been covered that you cannot change it.
  11. Yes. I turned them all off, then on re-open they are checked again. X6 MU3
  12. I was thinking since this is a Mastercam forum, the thread starter saw it in the menu which promped the question. As far as going back to XP- Mastercam 7 will no longer support XP. So no more macros in Mastercam?
  13. I can't use macros- a message comes up saying "due to User Access Control, not available in Window 7 systems." Is there a workaround for this?
  14. From my experience the drill will always walk towards the thin wall. We have had expensive parts ruined this way. Always leave extra stock and finish it after the deep hole drilling.
  15. I started as a production worker, age 21, in a valve manufacturing plant in 1976. Moved on a couple of years later to a small job shop where an old tool and die maker took me under his wing and got me on the Journeyman training program. The only CNC we had was a Bridgeport retrofit with a Bandit controller. You could see only one line at a time, no DRO. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Didn't take long, as most of the older guys were afraid of it. Worked on Prototraks for years before getting into Mastercam only about 5 years ago.
  16. I have Autocursor in my right click menu. F2 works too.
