  1. Drag, I just modified a mplfan post last week for stock puller routine using the area that Ron posted above. Once you get the op type decision made (in your case push--- if stck_op$ = 0, ppush, e$ "(Push stock -",e$) you only have to create a postblock called ppush with direct outputs and variable outputs (stck_final etc.) as needed get what you need. Andy
  2. I did a search, no find.
  3. Wasn't there a chook for X that backed up vital files---md, control, mtb etc?
  4. Bryan, Thanks for the zip2go sample. After I figured out how to use zip2go I looked at your cutoff and puller ops and the post. First I found that in the puller op the misc reals 1 and 2 had values in them that you must have entered. So I suspected that your post was written for that. Then I looked at the post and there it was, written for mr1 mr2 variables with forced output for all else. Except for the mr's my puller op was setup exactly as yours. Of course yours worked perfectly. Before V10 I had written a puller routine that used mr and mi variables and worked fine. Then when v10 came out and my post would not updated properly I chose to use a different post (v10) and modify it for puller using v10 puller routine with no mr's. I would still like not to use mr's but may not have that option. Your files have helped me immensely toward that goal. Thank You
  5. DS, Actually I got it to output to the nc code just fine. Its just that whats on the screen is NOT what one would want. I cant understand what MC was thinking when they created bar pull routines. It makes no sense at all.
  6. Anyone use this? I worked on getting my post to use this X2 routine and got it to work. However, MC does no allow top of stock to be at z0. But the code posts fine. In our setup we use end of stock (top of stock)for wcs z=0 as usual. Then the part say 1" long is machined in the z minus direction where the part is to the left of z0. Then part is cut off at z-1". The bar end is now at z-1.1 or so. In Backplot The stock puller will not go to the left of z0 in MC no matter what values we put in. Yet it needs to grab the stock at z-1.1 or so. Also the routine shows the bar when the part is machined and then only shows the finished part when the puller op comes up as if we are trying to pull the finished part and not the bar????? In verify it shows both the part and the bar after pulling. Please enlighten me. Thanks, Andy
  7. You mean the oldest profession? I mean professional? Masterbetas dont need those anyway.
  8. Hey Paris, that worked, thanks. You really are a post xxxxe. Cheers Andy
  9. In Settings> Configuration>Default Machines I have my mill as a default. Toolman, I understand and I do know that and that works. So why does file new bring up an different MMD. It must be a default somewhere??? Thanks, Andy
  10. When I am done with the milling job I am doing and want to start a new file, I hit file new and MC tries to load a 5axis MMD (which of course, I dont have), and then proceeds to give error "cant find MMD". Where can I change the file new default MMD? I know that I can choose Machine type design first and then choose machine type mill, but is that the only way? Thanks, Andy
  11. Yes to #1 #2. Intermittently. Also, autosave window comes up for confirm but the box is behind MC window and you dont know it is waiting. Autohighlight not work until you find autosave window and complete it. It seems that some other things also dont work in that senario.
  12. Thank you all I will try all those things. At least this doesnt keep me from working!
  13. Now it seems to be working constantly. I guess I will have to wait till it does it again. Thank you so much for your attention. Andy
  14. I dont know but, Ive been using this system for 2 years and MC has always worked perfect.
  15. I tried colors and that was not it. It works, quits, then works again, without going into config.
  16. Everything going along normal while I am drawing then all of a sudden preselect highlight quits working. What I mean by that is when I move the mouse pointer over the geometry it does not light up the geometry. I can, however, select the geometry when the pointer is over the geometry and it selects it and highlights the selection. What is going on? Thanks
  17. Thad, My biggest complaint is the path thing. Much simpler in 9. Now you have to set path before picking a machine and etc etc. I sympathize with you. I dont know how to help you otherwise. Im sure you have tried everything as in nci path or manually navigating the path in ops/files/nc file. Maybe someone will know more> I will be following this thread. Andy
  18. John, how would you know it was the 16th value? Roger, I am using a mplfan version. I will try that. Where is the list of predefined post variables? I looked on page 304, am I missing something? Andy
  19. So I guess the variable names varie from post to post? I did look up the # in ref guide but then did not know what to do. So, with that number one can name the variable, format it, test it (if statement) and then use it however one likes? What is rpar(sparameter$, 16)
  20. How do I find the post variable name for insert nose radius for a tool in lathe so I can output it in my post? In this case corner radius.
  21. Win 2K, X2, sorry about my luck! Thanks All, Andy
  22. Is there some way to make file open/save default to list or details instead of always listing with icons?
  23. If the cs was set wrong would it not try to change tools at the erroneous cs Z position. That would be nice!!!!! I am not willing to try that one on mine.
