John,
I worked on this problem for an hour. I assumed this was lathe job. (interesting challenge).
It looks like the point common to the two radii will vary in x and z as the diameter of the part changes. It seems possible to quantify algebraically but would be very complicated and alot of algebra for a macro.
Good luck.
Andy
Thanks, got me pointed in the right direction.
Actually it was checked and un-checking "Support coolant using coolant value (provides backward compatability for old posts)" made it work.
Anyway, another brick in the wall!
Thank you
Post was outputing m8 m9 perfectly in VX
Now VX2 mr2 there is no coolant output.
What do I have to change now. Boy this is agrivating. V9 to VX was bad enough but I thought that would be the last of it. Lost 2 hours so far today.
Thanks
All of a sudden the post dialogue is not defaulting .nc extension. (Lathe)
In mill it is fine.
In lathe, the config is set the same and control post processing dialog is "configuration mode"(greyed out as it is in mill).
WTF
Any ideas?
Andy
I mostly do 2 and 2 1/2 also.
I have solids, but only use it as a design
tool for myself and to show my customers what a part or assembly might look like.
Actually, I did set up note pad and made its window tall and narrow to the right of screen and had to shrink MC to fit on left. Then I could copy and paste, but my tool bars would mess up on the shrink. I usually use MC in max window.
Great idea on the MRU I didn't know that.
It turns out the MRU can only be set to 10 max entries however.
Maybe they will make something inside MC someday to do this sort of thing.
Is there a way to speed up data entry to save typing values in again and again.
For example, have a short list pulldown (20 common values I use often) to use in a drag and drop to value windows when needed?
When i updated my tool libraries from 9 to X a year ago it turned ALL the tools' coolants off.
I was pissed, and was told to hand change them one at a time. So I did and did not smile!
All the money I pay for MC and Maintenance and
have to do crap like that.
Dont get me wrong I like my MC just so much seemingly unecessary stuff.
Just ONE of the reasons I hated the X changeover.
I had a problem with outputs being x,y not x,z about 6 months ago. But it turned out to be the post would not update to X properly. With your problem your only getting x's, which, as you said, would be very frustating. Sorry, no help.
