  1. In arc filters de-select all but X,Y planes. Also check rotation. If it is selected, select No Rotation
  2. If your parts are identical just use a subprogram.
  3. My post puts out a z value on every line when drilling multiple holes and on the peck cycle it will peck on the first hole but when it reads the z value on the next line it will not peck for the rest of the holes. I have to delete z values and sometimes if I forget it can ruin a drillbit and sometimes a part. This is what it outputs: T4 M06 ; NONE G00 X0. Y.7233 S1316 M3 Z.1 M08 N402 G83 X0. Y.7233 Z1.35 Z.1 Z.1 F4.2126 Y-.2867 Z1.35 X-.3684 Z1.35 X.3684 Z1.35 G80 M05 M09 M01 Can any of you ol post guru's help me? Thanks
  4. I had one file that I could save it right after a "regen all" and re-open it and all ops would be dirty. JParis told me to reload machine def and that cured it. Might want to try that first.
  5. Mine was 4.3 gb and the next highest one was 76.4 mb.....I guess you can tell who does all the work around here...lol
  6. I deleted the old account and created a new one. I wear many hats around here and IT guy is one of them. I feel sorry for the people that have an actual IT guy, because I can be a real pain in the arse.....j/k I'm actually better than an IT Only person because I have been on both sides and actually KNOW how much of a pain an IT guy can be!!
  7. My workstation has been slowing down over a period of 6 months. I found out by accident what was causing it. We are on a network and my login is the culprit. Someone else was logged into my computer last week and I had to do a quick edit to a solid and regen/repost. I noticed it was way fast on his login. After I finished what I was doing, I logged myself back in and ran benchmark and it was 11:48. Logged back in on the other guy on the same computer and ran benchmark in 5:38 which is close to what it ran back in November 2007. I dont know if you're on network or not, but it might be something to look into. HTH
  8. Gunnar, I uninstalled X3, went into regedit and removed all traces of X3 and done a fresh install and now it will open .par files.
  9. I guess this needs to be reported as a bug. Thanks for the reply. I was just getting ready to pull my hair out......lol
  10. I can open a .par file on a computer that does not have SolidEdge installed, so I think since X3 has the SolidWorks plugins it does not play well with SolidEdge. Are there any SE users on here that have SE installed with X3 on the same computer?
  11. They have their own login and have limited access. That might be the thing to do. Thanx
  12. The MasterCAM Direct link in SolidEdge opens X2. I did a side by side install (X3 and X2)and I dont know how to modify (if it can be done) to direct the link to X3 instead of X2. I will look into SE help and see if I can change the link to X3.
  13. I use SolidEdge to open .prt files and then save them as a .par, but I thought I read somewhere that X3 would open .prt files without purchasing a translator. Its no big deal about opening .prt files with X3, but I do need to open .par files like I was able to with X2. I got the new SolidEdge with ST last week and just got done installing it. I have not tried to use the MasterCAM link through SolidEdge yet, but I will try it now.
  14. I'll give it a look. I just set up a 2 hour cycle time part, so I will have a little time to try to learn more about it. Thanks Del, You coming to the Lake this weekend?
  15. Is there a way to lock or password protect Machine def's? I have a kid out in the shop that keeps jacking up one of the machine def's and swears on his life that he is not doing anything to it. We have 3 guys out in the shop that use the same computer and he is the only one that ever has trouble!!!! I'm not real savvy at machines def's or posts anyway and it is a real pain in the arse when I have to repair it EVERY TIME he uses it. Thanx
  16. I have installed the SolidEdge translator and still it will not open .par files. I also thought X3 would open .prt files but I get "Incorrect access code" error. Thanx again
  17. If you have experience with flat geometry you should be able to pick up toolpathing with solids pretty quick. I bought the Solids Training Tutorial book from this website a while back but it is for creating solids, not so much toolpaths. Ask your re-seller about training classes. Good luck to you
  18. Pete, You have mail. John, I have not installed said translator. I will look now for it. Thanks
  19. I have been using X3 since the release last Friday and today is the first time I've tried to open a solid and I get the error "Cannot find Parasolid data in Solidedge file" They will still open in X2 MR2 so I opened it and then saved it as a .mcx file and then opened it with X3. Anyone else having this trouble? Thanx
  20. I have bought some Snap-Jaws in the past. I have since made my own.
  21. Been along time since I ran a Fadal but PU,0,0,1 for send & recieve?? and we had to make our own cable.
