  1. Hello, I made a part yesterday and the customer called wanting it 1mm smaller on the contour. Can I put a negative number in the "Stock to leave on drive surfaces" box? I will try to attach a pic Sorry, it's the one on the left. I run 2 monitors
  2. Quote _____________________________________ Is the Hurco control really a pain? ______________________________________ YES!! Windoze can barely run a PC. You do not want a Winmax Control. The older Ultimax Controller is not bad, but I dont know if you can get them anymore?? JM2C
  3. Can you just use the create helix function? I've used it for geometry for toolpaths on a lathe (Millturn) job we had awhile back for oil grooves on the outside of a shaft. HTH
  4. I have been trying to get a tool list done so I can use it on a mold insert. This is an insert that we make 24 to 30 of every year. I think once I get all my tools in, it will work great for me. It's one of those things on my "To Do" List and right now I just dont have time.
  5. I agree with that also, but I do alot of 1/8" and 1/4" npt for waterlines in molds and moving the cutter straight up works just fine for me. I'm sure if you were doing aerospace stuff you would have to do it on a taper. I've never tried it in MC, but now I'm curious and will give it a try.
  6. I meant to say, when exporting, you can name the op whatever you want to in the "Groups" dropdown menu, then select yes when importing to Add ops groups also
  7. Where the dropdown munu is that says "2D-Toolpaths", I click in that box and type in my own name. That way I dont have to purge the ops because they keep building up and it gets hard to find. I name them something relevant to the job I am working on, like "Head insert stationary" or "Head insert ejector" Then when importing hit yes to add op groups also HTH
  8. We have a Hurco TM-8 and a Mori-Seiki SL303. I'm sold on Mori-Seiki machine tools. I'm sure there are cheaper (less expensive) ones out there, but I would'nt trade my Mori for a shop full of Hurco's Just my opinion
  9. Start/all programs/mastercam 9.1/hasp 9 utility Then select the "Read" button
  10. A place I used to work for years ago had a Sabre 750 with the 850 control. If you haven't found anything by late morning, I can email someone there and they will send me an old program for sample code. I would ask them for the post also, but we used Esprit there. HTH (edit) contact me thru my email.
  11. I think it is something on your end, because I could only email you certain types of files. Talk to IT guys.
  12. When I try that my options button is greyed out.
  13. I use these. I had to make a 5.000 stand to mount it on so it would be 6.000 inches tall. http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNSRIT?PMPXN...PMT4NO=50529823
  14. I hope someone else can lead us down the right path, because I would like to know too. Like I said before, I learn something new every day. I love this place!!
  15. There might be a better way, but I have the same deal and I exported op's and then just re-picked geometry. Took a little while, but not as long as starting from scratch.
  16. You're welcome. We have 2 wire EDM's and a Mori Lathe with the 16i control's. I will dig around some more tonight.
  17. Are all your settings correct for the machine that it will not send to? What alarm # is it showing?
  18. What kind of transfer program are you using?
  19. We have a HURCO with a WINMAX Control (Windows Embedded) and we have Trend Micro Internet Security on our Server and it takes care of ALL windows based machines. If your not on a network, I dont know if you can install Antivirus on the local machine controller itself or not. HTH
  20. It's a "Do & Learn" kinda thing for me. I've been a MCAM user on and off since V4.1 and have used various other CAM Softwares at different jobs but have been a continuous user since V7.2 and I learn something new about it every day just by reading other peoples Q&A. Professional Training is a must to get you going in the right direction, but just use it every day and learn.
  21. It's on X3. Not sure if it's on X2 or not. Where do you work in Paducah? I need some waterjet work done
