  1. He's on v9. He downloaded the aladin driver and the hasp works now, just v9 not finding it.
  2. Just in case he's still here. The "full" graphical interface can be done by drawing the toolpath and turning comp in computer off. Put each toolpath on different levels so as to turn on and off as needed. Alot of furniture manufacturers used nc autocode and nc polaris. Both programs worked better if you drew the centerline of the toolpath and picked it. Most of those users start out in Mastercam drawing the centerlines and using them, then progress to letting the software do the offsetting. The disadvantage of this graphical interface is that you cannot change tools without changing geometry. The advantage of drawing the paths are.... .. Not real sure unless you are an hourly employee wanting to spend more time per part. If you want to automatically create the toolpath geo just backplot and save as geo, then repick the geo for a toolpath. As for multiple fixtures/offsets check out transform toolpaths. You can move paths as subs around tombstones, across vises, any plane you can create using any number of work offsets and even setting G10's as you go.
  3. Jimmy you can go to: http://www.aladdin.com/support/hasp.asp and download the latest driver for the hasp. I do not know if you'll run into anything else using V9 on 64 bit sys.?.?.
  4. that means pins 6-8-20 are n0ot jumpered on machine side. HTH
  5. dwg and dxf contain no surface/solid info, maybe he means inventor files?
  6. G28 is a return to reference command, you might try: G53G0X0Y9. ASSuming G53 is the machine coord sys
  7. If it is only a few variables your wanting to temporarily store it would be easier to just create a few new vars stored_z_1 : 0 putting info into text buffers can be useful, but also complex when reading back from the buffers The post ref cd has some very useful info on buffers and explains it well
  8. We have done several 5ax lasers. Most are pretty simple, but some run on odd code rather than gcode. You also have to turn the tracking off on some them when doingparts with tight radius
  9. I also left out psof$ change. Connormac has better readin skills, dangit!
  10. If you open the post in a text editor look for "M06" or "M6" (whichever is coming out in nc.) it will be in a line like: *t$, "M06",e$ make it: *t,e$
  11. you may want to ask your dealer about ATP. It does better at sorting by tool, but involves training and set up
  12. King what shop? they need mc? Both Carolina's are booming right now. we went through somewhat of a slow down a few years back, but things have definatly picked up. If you look online payscales maybe a bit lower, but so is the cost of livin. Here is the real estate web for my county: http://www.homesmagazineonline.com/homesma...nline/index.asp
  13. I put SR105FANUC_2 .pst and .mcx back up on ftp I got a head error, but the offset still worked look in ptlchng0$ and ptlchng$ for changes HTH
  14. 1. move to NC 2. buy mastercam from local dealer seriously, if I wanted to start a turning shop I would start by looking on the interenet for companies selling small turned parts and alot of them. be looking at machines that have barfeeders and stock magazines. If you can get an order for large quantities proceed. To get started you might find a local shop that can cut the parts for you. They will get part of the profitt, but you are not finacially exposed to badly. Also check with material supply companies to see what kind of terms you can get with them. (starting out it will prolly be "cash and carry") I have seen some small lathes with a "slide" instead of a turrent crank out parts at an awesome rate. There is more money in custom parts/protoypes, but the steady money is in production work starting out. A friend of mine that owns laundry mats sayz " I get em a quarter at a time".
  15. 1. in ptlchng0 if tlngno$ <> prv_tlngno$,[ *t$,"m06",e$ *tlngno$ ] be sure that the pvr_ is getting updated at the end of ptlchg and ptlchg0 by adding: !tlngno$ 2. there is a chrck box for force toolchange, I have never used it though.
  16. I have a techno router I'd like to rebuild with mach3. How much of a pain was it?
  17. John "!" update without outputting "`" output only with other data being output @ = update current variable without updating previous(no output) ! = update previous (no output) ` = output only with something else, update prev if output * = force output and update previous ~ = force output without updating previous ? = bombs post out, usually a typo
  18. first you need to click on "full reply form" below then click on image it will ask for a web address that the image is located (I think alot of people here use photo bucket to upload images to) hth
  19. Last thursday was "wakefest". A term one of my cousins ame up with for the family reunion.
  20. If you can spare the time, I would go to the class. As a reseller, if I do seminars for new releases in an area and only a few people show up then I am not as likely to do any more seminars in that area. X to X2 is not that big of a jump, but you will learn something new I am sure. Also your attendance to this one helps ensure there'll be another one in the future. It also gives us a chance to get feedback.
  21. put an asterik (*) in front of nexttool *nexttool$ should force it out as zero
  22. the varible in the post is nexttool, if you look in the post in the ptlchg$ postblock you'll see where it is outputting the T01 m6 and the t05, just move nexttool to the tool change line
  23. It is in X2. Currently under going the beta process. (Looks good too!)
