  1. I machined Incoloy 925 and I use 115 sfpm for carbide and slow on the feed. 2.0 high feed we run around 20 ipm and 10 ipm for finishing. Turning same thing 115 sfpm, .012 roughing .008-.003 depending on finish required. Drilling 100-150 sfpm with indexable drill .003 feed. I find I'm able to get away with heavier doc cause I'm feeding so slow, all dependent on the rigidity of the setup.
  2. I think Rekd is right, but I can't see any where it actually says what it is
  3. Doosan Mynx 6500/50 with Fanuc i series controller.
  4. Thanks for the info. I was thinking that on this machine that the "A" axis wasn't supported cause all the settings were set to 0. I'll keep looking into it. Do the parameters tell you the tolerance for 1-10 settings?
  5. Hello, I'm doing some rotary roughing and the motion is pretty choppy and I thought using the look ahead function would help. Using G05 P1 R1 I noticed it ran smoother and quicker then with out but my problem starts when the machine starts to use the "A" axis I get an error. PS 5011 Parameter Zero (max cut) I look for that parameter (01432) max cut feedrate (bipl) and it is set to zero so I change it to match the max cut feed rate on (01430) and when I run the program it changes back to 0 and gives me the same alarm. Any ideas where it's getting the 0 from to over write the value I put in? Also what does bipl stand for? Thanks, Greg
  6. Thanks again for your help. I have been making these parts for awhile now and slowly improving my cycle times, the Curve 5 Axis was giving giving me problems this time. The good thing about asking for help is all the new things to learn. I take a few pics of the results and post them.
  7. Thank you everyone for your input/help, I appreciate it very much. Ron, I didn't analyze that surface it does vary around .003, I thought that creating a surface using swept would create a perfect surface based on my geometry using the across contour being the half circle and the along contour being the length. I don't want my tool to move at all in the Z. Like you suggested I changed the tool axis control from surface to To point and it fixed the problem. I do have MC 2017 but my supervisor that helps me program occasionally doesn't want to make the jump so i'm stuck in X9 till he does. I attached a new file that is a dumbed down model of what I'm working on. Can you please look at the second program too, how would you finish the bottom, I need the make the bottom smooth and relativity flat. See the new attached file. HELP-2.mcx-9
  8. If I set the chain to single it does the pass correctly but I only get to cut in one direction, so I guess I'll make two programs one for each direction?
  9. Posted in the wrong forum can you please move the topic. Thanks
  10. Hello, I have a program that does not follow the entire chain it starts and stops just short of completing the entire chains. I have two chains and the start of one is short and the end of the other is short. The program should start at A+90 and finish at A-90 then moves in the X and then comes back to A+90. The actual cut should starts at A89.523 and cuts to A-90, it starts back at A-90 and finishes at A89.523. I have many parts like this I've done with no issues but this one is giving me problems. I've checked my geometry to see if there was and issue with a surface or chain and I don't see any issues. I also checked the lead in and out I just can't see the problem. TIA, Greg HELP.mcx-9
  11. Thanks for the tip, I'll look into it.
  12. I use solids too. You just select the solid face by selecting Activate solid selection then deselect the body which makes select face active and pick the face you want.
  13. Good Morning, Any idea why I would get these messages occasionally on my programs? This morning I got one on a simple dynamic facing program and on a contour (ramp). TIA, Greg
  14. Hey Rick, I left the Walls and Floor stock at 0 set the check surface at .003 and selected the bottom as my check and it stayed .003 off the bottom.
  15. I get a warning that tells me " Stock to leave on the wall may not be smaller then stock to leave on the floor." Then it gives me an error and won't regen. Using X9 not 2017.
  16. Yes, I'm using Chrome. The one time it happened I was Google searching a topic and my chance eMastercam showed up in the list I selected it and 5 minutes after I started reading it popped up. It doesn't happen right away, it happens after being on the page for awhile. I'll take a screen cap the next time it happens.
  17. Actually I do, it was on the filter settings topic. http://www.emastercam.com/board/topic/90307-arc-filtertolerances-and-config-tolerances/
  18. On emastercam.com (here)
  19. This is what happened to me: In the middle of reading a topic the page changes and a pop up appears and an audio message starts telling me that my computer is infected with a virus/malware and that I need to call a certain number to get instructions on how to remove it. The number and info is listed in the the pop up and the current emastercam tab changes to a warning screen on has a different web address. It's happened 3 times so far, a month or so ago and twice in the last week or so.
  20. Control Def has check boxes for supporting arc's in xy, zy, zx planes are they checked or some how got unchecked?
  21. In your filters there is a check box to post line segments instead of arc, it may be that?
  22. At least it's not just me, I did a scan after I got the pop up and it showed no infections. I did have to shut the web browser right down to get it to clear.
  23. A couple of times while browsing the site I had a redirect to an anti-virus/malware site and and pop up that says to call a number to remove the malware. Really sucks.
  24. Colin, I currently go into the planes manger and set the plane I'm working on to 0, as I create each plane I set the value to 0 but occasionally I forget to do this. Other times I forget are: When I use Transform toolpath When I import toolpaths and it's either grayed out or sets the value to 1 in the particular program. When I haven't had enough coffee... The way I catch it is to ALWAYS check in Cimco. It's too bad that there isn't just a switch to force G54 on all planes in Mastercam, when I do any rotary work on a VMC G54 is always center of part so Top, Front, "New" Bottom, and "New" Back and any other planes I create are G54 but on the HMC I use a new work offset for each plane so it would be a nice switch. Speaking of "New" Bottom and Back planes I would be nice to be able to tell MC which way to flip the part when selecting planes so by default would rotate around the X axis instead of Y axis.
