  1. first create a png file with your company logo then replace the logo.png file in the c:mcamx directory. make sure you rename your file to read the same name as the file your replacing, (logo.png) if it still doesn't work, your logo is to big, reduce the pixel size. I'm no expert, but thats how I got it to work for me.
  2. we do exactly what Don said, design in solid works and cut in mastercam. the advantages for us have been cleaner 3d files.
  3. I know I could do this in the past on older Fanuc controls but can't figure out why it doesn't work on our new fanuc. I used to be able to skip holes in a drilling cycle by placing an L0 at the end of the line block. does this control use a different code?
  4. I didn't see the links, i'll check them out, thank
  5. just wonder if there is such a thing? I have my seat and was wondering is there a way to have a computer beside the machines that allow the operators to view programs in mastercam without buying another seat.
  6. I'm having the same problem. I delete and the geo sticks, I have to close the file, reopen and delete the geo again and it works. This also happens with xform translate. what a pain in the butt!!
  7. Dan thanks for the short-cut key, but that is not exactly what I was looking for. I want the display to be off and not have to turn it off.
  8. how do I change the toolpath display to not be visable after I create a toolpath. I now have to toggle it off after each toolpath is created
  9. thanks Thad and Tony, that worked.
  10. Hi Guys, I have a basic question which I should know the anwser but it's not coming to me. I have just transferred from X3 to X4 and can't remember how to get my tool library to default to the library I created. I tried through the operations manager, properties, tool library(change the file to the one I created), but when I open a new session it defaults back. any help would be great.
  11. quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am lazy, I demand voice activated functions, and I would like to say create line, point, copy, etc; and MC will respond. No more mouse clicks, Please incorporate it in X3 MR1? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- forget about voice activated, why can't MC read my mind and just do what I'm thinking before I even say it.
  12. Thanks Surface, got all the axis's referenced. do I need to reset the tool changer height? thanks, Dan
  13. I think I got it, the screen has changed to metric(finally), so I'm going to continue on, and I'm sure I'll get stuck somewhere else.
  14. Surface, I got a copy of the manual(thanks for taking the time to post it out for me), the problem I'm having is when I start to prepare for the cold start procedure the machine won't change to metric. I followed steps 1.1 thru 1.6, but when I push cycle start nothing changes. I almost ready to throw in the towel, and call someone.
  15. Lee, sorry what's a CS? Thad, type that in the MDI screen, correct?
  16. Thanks Rob, I'm trying to cold start the machine but it won't allow me to switch to metric(as per the instructions in the manual), I insert the g21 code but nothing changes on the screen. any thoughts? thanks Dan
  17. The battery for built-in absolute pulse coders (APC) has failed. The machine was shut down and now the recorded absolute position is lost. I've ordered new batteries, And want to have the machine up and runningbut it's still in an error state. What's my next step? any help would be great. Dan
  18. We bill on running, cleaning, set-up etc. to the job in the machine. Let the pencil pushers figure out what they want to charge the customer. I use setupX, I take the cycle time, add time for setup and clean-up, then mark the total for time on the job.
  19. quote: ------------------------------------------------- The effect on tolerance this might have is not a concern because part tolerance is +/- what ever looks good. -------------------------------------------------
  20. Hey guys, I want to print a copy of my toollist which would include all the basic info: tool #, tool type, dia, tool name plus speeds and feeds. I want to give the operators this info, so they can generally figure out what speed and how fast to run what, and so on. Thanks in advance, Dan
