  1. Take a look in the MPMaster that In-House has on their site here. I just compared their PWCS set with our Generic Haas post and was able to change things up a bit to use G54-G59 and then G154 P1-P99. I am sure with your example, if you can understand the IF THEN statements, you should easily be able to change it. Mike in MN
  2. Actually using MC X4 MU1 today to program, the dark Verify is very bad for trying to see anything it's doing. While changing things per this thread on both computers (one ATI and one Nvidia Quadro) both seem to have the same problem once I get past the black out, dark verify. Shading has no effect. Mike in MN
  3. Changed all the settings per this thread, worked out for our ATI card and Nvidia. Still had to change the Shading Options because it was still dark. (Turned on 2 additional lights at opposite 45 degrees and worked good) Mike in MN
  4. quote: (have that darn ATX card the company won't replace) Ooops, meant ATI. Mike in MN
  5. I had the same initial issue after install today, (have that darn ATX card the company won't replace) had to disable the "Front Buffer" in the "Screen" setting before it would appear finally, but very dark. Mike in MN
  6. I have this problem intermittently also. I don't use transform and it is X4 native program. Mostly mine are when I change anything in a operation parameter, like a "Z" height or Leave stock XY, it would dirty that one which is a given, but also dirty a whole "Tool Group" which is completely separate from the operation in a tool group that is being edited. The geometry, wcs and tools would not even be the same, but for some reason would keep dirty that one tool group. Not a big deal being that mostly 2d contour passes, but still wonder why. Mike in MN
  7. Just waiting on the "Powers that Be" to figure out what they got going. Just another hurry up and wait deal. Gets frustrating that they want all the information in the world right now. I make phone calls, send emails get things moving, then it's on hold till they make a decision. I told my boss yesterday that he drags his feet, I then stopped and said rather than drag your feet, ever see a dog drag their a** on the carpet? That's what you do. He wasn't impressed, but all of us on the floor loved it....lol Thanks for the info everyone...Hope to give it a shot. Our reseller does offer Mold Plus, so we will probably be trying that route if someone makes a decision here. Mike in MN
  8. Thanks, we are supposed to be getting some prints to quote tomorrow and if the job goes through, I guess we will be looking into it. We all know how far RFQs go now a days though. Mike in MN
  9. Anyone using a translator for Catia V5 in MC. I have talked to reseller in the past and they say a Moldplus Translator. Does anyone know anything about Catia in MC? How does it work? Thanks, Mike in MN
  10. Noted! I didn't try singling anyone out nor did I mention anyone specific, just wanted to maybe encourage those that are frustrated like myself that to try the QC avenue. I just didn't want to be someone that complains without trying to get feedback to someone that could hopefully resolve issues (if they are just) for future releases. I guess that is what I was referred to on here. Personally having some bad days at work and trying to find some directions for help, that's all. Sorry, Mike in MN
  11. I guess it's just my frustration with this new release, but at least now reading these threads I feel that some of it isn't my fault nor the hardware we are using. There does seem to be some bugs. Mike in MN (11. Issues with your reseller should be resolved directly with your reseller and/or CNC Software. 12. WOW! Support is much better in a public forum. Mike in MN
  13. Roger, Well like I stated I sent a list to CNC Software. I just figured since you stated there are no problems with X4 with regards to crashes, when this forum states the opposite there was little reason to talk about anything else. Just trying to find out if its me, hardware, software, or what the issue is. Also, our other seat has an Nvidia Quadro and has the same problems. Hopefully with the MU1 things will work out better and I can convince management to keep going when maintenance comes around again. Mike in MN
  14. Just bug related things. Made comments here along with talking to Reseller. Hopefully, the issues I am having will be resolved during the MU1, for all of us. Mike in MN Sorry Mike rule 11. (11. 15. I made my first email and sent it to qc today. Hopefully, trying to find the right directions for help will get some stuff resolved here. (here at work, not in the forum... ..) Mike in MN (11. 16. I think all of you that have Resellers that are willing to work with you are very lucky. I know the last time I talked to ours he got defensive when I said I was having problems with MC X4 and said he is on Beta Version 62,000 and hasn't ever crashed. Blamed it on my hardware and basically hung up the phone. Absolutely no support. It's going to be very hard to get the company to buy maintenance next year. This year almost didn't happen! Mike in MN
  17. Bullet Bob, That's the card we have on our other seat and have the same problem, but like I stated, I guess we just keep plugging away. When I get time I was gonna try updating the Quadro drivers and see how it goes. Just waiting. Mike in MN
  18. Thanks I will look into it. Mike in MN
  19. Well I called my retailer today after spending sometime this morning getting X3MU1 all set back up between our 2 seats(machine definitions and controls). Well after some conversation I was told that most of my problems stemmed from the bad Graphics Card that we have on one computer. He recommended the Nvidia Quadro card. Which hey, maybe, I don't know. Well after looking into it our other seat computer has that card in it. Well he stated he hasn't had the problems I have and don't know what to say other than to get the company to buy the recommended graphics card. My only complaint was I didn't have these problems with X3 MU1. But I guess I am at a loss. Right now I just don't know what to think, I realize the graphics card could be a source of the problem, but these bugs are so intermittent and I can't seem to reproduce them each time it crashes. So for now, I am gonna blame it on the Graphics card in hopes that the company I work for will keep Maintenance going. It gets to be a hard line to tow between the software I know and use and management. They keep fighting each year about maintenance but I keep getting them to bend. We will hang in there for the MU. Mike in MN PS. I have been trying to comment details when the Crash happens during the report process. I hope that stuff CNC gets means something.
  20. DIDO!!! to Bob. Today is an especially bad day for crashes. I am programming a simple model, very small file, less than 700kb. Crashing at numerous different events. Send report each time and reopen, do the exact same thing and worked fine. These crashes are getting redundant. Mike in MN
  21. "The heading change could be accomplished by adding a question to your post that lets you reply to it before posting the nc code. Then, you could place it wherever you want. If it is always the exact same header, you could just hardcode it to post out in the spot you want it." Something I have never heard of here...What would or how does one place code in the post to have a question come up?? Any examples? Mike in MN
  22. I have tried to figure out how to figure out cross sections of wings/propellers. If you have any sites that talk about it I would appreciate it if you shared. I agree Loft surfaces would be the way to go in this situation. With using Loft surfaces, make sure when you pick your chains in a row, your start point and direction is the same point. Loft "Syncs" the chain which forms the surfaces. If you use Help in Mastercam you can search the different Surface functions, I recall it kind of explains the strategy. Mike in MN
  23. I don't know about the parameters, but in a shop I used to work in we did this kind of thing all the time. The trick was to figure out which direction the indexer moved Zero when Homing it out. Then mount the second indexer just before Indexer Home in the Opposite direction. Next, and this is only the way we did it. Program the indexer box in Incremental, utilizing the + and - directions of travel distance. This insures that you tell the box which direction to travel on each line. That's how we did it so we could turn the main indexer off at night. There is some communication with the operators and such, but sometimes you have to use the tools you got and make them work. Mike in MN
  24. Well I agree it takes some getting used to, but I am starting to do some training with guys that have no CAD experience and for training purposes it's pretty handy. Mike in MN
  25. First I would say check into Kurt Vise "Mini-Locks" or Mitee Bite's "Mite Bite" I use them all the time for our fixturing, similar to the Pit Bull but very low profile. Personally I prefer the Mini-Lock, but Mitee Bites are a bit cheaper. Second, sometimes it works out like previous posts you may have to cut the scale off one side before you even start. Another possibility I would say is that we made a cover for an Aerospace company years ago that was Approx. 6" wide by 4" long by 1/2" thick. This thing was all hogged out to .060 thickness with ribs all over it. Well the owner wanted to try to machine it complete and very hard. I was skeptical, it was 7000 series Alum by the way, but we did. Basically this cover came out perfect without any warp-age or twisting. I guess the theory was the harder it was machined it almost stabilized the material. I think we only needed .005" flatness on the back side, but for something so thin, I was impressed, but there where ribs also. Something like this is quite hard to trouble shoot ahead. My opinion is that 7000 series is much more stable than 6000 series, but it may be the difference in parts some of us have made. I wouldn't be nervous about skinning one side, flipping it over, hog it out and rip the back off. Keep in mind the style rake you have on your Face Mill will be a big factor too. Many times using a different style geometry tool makes all the difference for adding stress to a part. Talk to a couple Tooling Reps....a couple!! Not just one..LOL Mike in MN
