  1. Hi Don, I got your message, I will look at the file tomorrow. The roughing is finally complete, I will take a look at the finsih toolpath you provided it might be better than the one I made. Thx ! I will post the file as soon as I complete the program for everyone to grab on the FTP. Thx ! Everyone !!!
  2. Can you upload a file to the FTP so that we can have a better look at what you need. Usuing transform is how we make our subs, it works great. Does your post support subprograms, is it enabled in the control definition.
  3. Roger, Thx a bunch.....that worked out really well. I appreciate the help, one of my many bosses had been pressuring me to get one of these done for R & D; its finally here. I have to modify the geomtry in order to clean the edge of the part, but everything looks great. I took the solid, boolean added the shaft and flight, created a curve on all open edges, Xform Unroll, voila ! I had the geometry necesary to pocket and wall finish this baby using Axis substitution. Thx for your Help !!!
  4. Brian, How about you upload a Z2G File to the FTP, which will include your MD,CD, and POST, and I can take a better look at this. As you know every post is different and using the post debugger is a great way to identify the issue. What M codes do you need for each of the options you mentioned above ?
  5. Hi Brian, A quick post debuggin gave me an idea of your prob as I had this happen to my lathe post. Search for "psof$" (start of file) if in that postblock "scoolant" is missing then thats why you cannot see coolant on the first tool. The reason you see it on the second tool and beyond is because they are called from a different postblock "ptlchg$" or "ptlchg0$". Give that a try ! If in fact "scoolant" is missing then I would insert it right next to the tool callout pbld, n$, "G43", pfzout, *tlngno$, tloffno$, scoolant, pstagetool, e$
  6. Is anyone gonna be able to point me in the right direction. I really need advise on how to approach this beast. I have the finish pass using swarf but I am having gouging issues while roughing. Please Help !!
  7. OK I downloaded the file, how do I incorporate it into my custom setup sheet.
  8. I have a part very similar to that one, Im having trouble roughing it out. I used 5ax Swarf to finish the wall, but I have tried 5ax flow and Rotary w/o success. I uploaded the MCX-5 to the FTP its called; Masa_Auger.MCX-5. Thx ! Beforehand !

  10. Hi Guys, I actually need help on a variable pitch auger, I cant seem to get to the roughing. I used a 4ax Swarf to finish the wall; but roughing has proven difficult. I'll upload it on the FTP under X5_files as MasaAuger.MCX-5. Thx !
  11. Hi Guys, I actually need help on a similar part, I cant seem to get to the roughing. I used a 4ax Swarf to finish the wall; but roughing has proven difficult. Ill upload it on the FTP under X5_files as MasaAuger.MCX-5. Thx !
  12. Can you share it please. Thrash headhunter, why don't you upgrade the post yourself. I dont think between X4 and X5 any parameters have changed.
  13. How do you make the report sort the tools.
  14. Here is my tool list. The only thing is that I remove a bunch of extra info in order to fit more tool per page and save paper, feel free to add the TIME-SHORT info if you'd like or make any other modifications as you need. When you are done shoot it back maybe ill be able to use it also. Thx !
  15. Where can we get a hold of this Setup Report. Can you upload this to the FTP. On another note, since the site was changed does anyone have any issues getting email notifications when someone replies to a forum post? Just wondering Thx !
  16. You can change the default tool list report in the Mastercam Configuration page by clicking on reports on the left.
  17. Hello guys, I am pocketing a 3.75 x 1.63 x 1.125 deep pocket, I chose to use 2D Area Mill at full depth .05woc 7000rpm 70ipm, I have two questions: * What feed rate should I use for the helical entry * Why is the first cut after entry a full width cut and will this damage the toll. I've seen this done but in aluminum I am cutting SS304. Thx !
  18. Has anyone seen a failure to output an NC time value on the mill report?. On another note I've installed X5 on two machines and on both the image caption for additional images does not show. When I run the preview in viewer it does though. Help !!! I have a custom RPX that has the captures by operation removed and its down to the main view capture, additional captures, and a simple tool list that fits 16 tool per page, just in case anyone is interested. Thx for your help beforehand !!!
  19. Have you tried to click the color check box on the active reports setup window. Its on the left, right under drawing # heading.
  20. Can I get that post aswell, we have an SL30 and the code from the post requieres too many edits.
  21. This work great, it beats having to change at point. It is essentially the same principle only that the interface is more user friendly and not as confusing as change at point. Give this a try you'll love it !!
  22. I agree I hate the delay, it is irritating specially when you have a boss breatinhg down your neck for a program change or an operator for that matter. X3 didnt experience this lag, so much for an upgrade; CNC seem to address some problems with new releases but creates even more. Do they beta test this software before releasing or do they just believe that no one will say anything about this problem.
  23. quote: It has to be my post then. When I do as you describe, my numbers do "gray out" but they keep the values set. But my NC data shows G98 G83 Z-1.5 R.05 Q.5 . I'm at a loss, and the day is almost over..i;m ready today. Thanks for the help. I currently use this by setting my top of stock to Z-.65 ABS and my retract to Z-.55 ABS which gives .1 above your previously drilled hole. This has to be done in 2 OPs, the fisrt your .65 deep peck and the 2nd as I described, I do this all the time you should get something like code: G83 G98 Z-1.5 R0-.55 Q.015 F?? Your retract must be absolute if you leave it on .1 incremental, my post at least, does not recognize it outputs out a regular R0+.1.
