  1. You might have not chosen the correct driving geometry. A file or a Picture will aid us into better helping you.
  2. You could also click on the line width setting in the print parameters page, then you get what you want without having to see big thick lines on your part.
  3. Have you downloaded the active reports turorial from the FTP, if not here is the link ftp://mastercam-cadcam.com/Mastercam_forum/Setup_Sheets/. All the files needed should be there. The file is called CreatingSetupSheetswithActiveReports.zip, have fun !
  4. Have you tried the remove view, select the view you want to remove; then click on add view and select your custom wcs. Should work no prob, let me if it doesnt; im on my way out but will verify it tomorrow. Regards, GM
  5. A resolutions change, a graphics driver failure and refresh, going from 2 monitors to 1; the latter also tends to shift the icons on my desktop. At least that has been my experience.
  6. Here at work we deal with MC7 files all the time and yeah X will give you an error if you try to open it direct, you have to convert it to MC9 then open it in X. Works wonderfully and the toolpath also remains there since MC9 can read them.
  7. Post the tap postblock so we can look at it, kinda of hard when you say they are the same. We need to see it in order for us to maybe find the answer. Best, GM
  8. I tried placing a point but for some odd reason Mastercam cuts through the part if the point is placed on the left narrow section, however when I placed the point on the right it was all gravy. Must be the zigzag selection that forces it to start from the right side. Weird, but it works; just add a point to the list of chains and make sure that you turn off the ramp or helix entry.
  9. I've ran Dynamic Toolpaths on 4140 at 6800 RPM and 150IPM 1"DOC .05"WOC 1/2" Varimill, cuts like butter; you have to watch out for chip build up. You should give it a try Hanita endmills are great.
  10. Well how did you do it then? I normally just dynamically change the entry to the mid point of the chain, and actvate the parallel entry method in the lead-in/lead-out menu.
  11. You might have assign tool numbers sequentially checked in the Tool Settings tab under the Machine Group Properties.
  12. There is a calculator called G-Wizard that will spit out the parameters to run your tool at. Check it out it might helpo you determine your feeds and speeds; there shouldnt be any issue I assume you are actually increasing tool life by reducing tool pressure, it should work.
  13. So you want it to come out like the first example? Have you used debugger, you can pinpoint what portion of your post generates that output and modify it accordingly.
  14. You could also just trim the tool path and use that line as your trim geometry. Trimming can be a little tricky though as you have to be on a plane other than the Tool plane for it to work. Im on my way out but Ill be able to help you tommorrow if you still need it.
  15. Have you tried using the debugger, you simply double click the wrong output and the debugger will point you to the postblock that generated it. If you still have trouble, feel free to upload it to the FTP and Ill take a look at it.
  16. I guess everyone here doesn't seem to want to answer why is it that MCam handles the Bottom plane fine. But when it comes to the Back is when it acts weird, I uploaded a file above that shows this. I am aware that when you switch to the Bottom and Back views the X+ is switched but why on the Botoom plane it switches yet still it posts just fine; IT IS ONLY ON THE BACK PLANE. Please read the question right before replying, Thx !
  17. I ramp down on all my HPCC paths and have never had this issue. The only time I did have it was while using the Volumill add-in; it created an arc so small that the machine control could not make the move, it was a clearance move to return to the begining of the cut. I set my tolerances to a 2:1 cut tol. .001 that always seems to work.
  18. You quoted JParis but that doesnt answer the question as to why the bottom plane posts right but not the Back plane. Thx !
  19. Hello Fellows, Any answer to this yet, has anyone had a chance to look at the MCX file. Like said before the X direction does change for the Back and Bottom views but the Bottom view posts without any issues; the Back view posts but without the A coordinte. Regards, GM.
  20. Have you checked the margins on the setup sheet global settings. Make sure they are not a huGe number causing you to get this or drop me the RPX so I can take a look at it.
  21. Hi Brendan, Do you mind sharing your custom RPXs I have a custom mill RPX but haven;t gotten around to finish the lathe. Yours seems like the one I would make, do you care for sharing ?
  22. Well actually the Bottom plane slot actually posts out right, eventhough the X direction changes also; the problem shows up when you switch from Bottom to Back. Ill duplicate the file and upload on the FTP for everyone to see. I fired up the post debugger and from the looks of it somehow the cdelta value while transitioning from the Bottom to Back is 180 and since csav is also 180 the resulsting rotation is zero hence the lack of the A-270 block. I think it might be in the NCI, any suggestions ?
  23. No wonder we couldnt get it to work, what about left and right if you had the rotary along the Y. What about if you have a fifth axis? will you still need to create the extra planes. Thx !
  24. Hi, I'll take that post if you are willing to share. Thx !
  25. I would use Dynamic Mill, RPM 5100 IPM 98; for the entry Helix .025, Angle 2.0, Ramp IPM 20, Ramp RPM 3500, 3s Dwell. MasterCAM calls for a 9 minute cycle time. You still have to use a finisher for the corner radius.
