  1. got my codes for x but still no x still waiting
  2. Hi all my boss has finally decided to get me some help. we are looking for a mastercam programmer to help out on programming our water jet tables. we only do 2d countours and it is actually very easy programming. so no need fo lots of experience. just have to know the basics of mc. please send your resumes to my email in my profile.
  3. send me the file and i will see what i can do for you
  4. no problem took 30 seconds to do if you have any more let me know
  5. you could send it to me and i could get it out for you in no time at all
  6. we dont just post the filtered tool path because must of the times when i get polylines and splines there are overlapping entities and broken chains that can't be fixed until after i have saved the filter tool path cut on center. then it is much easier to trim lines and arcs together. also my controls don't like polylines in the tool path. don't know why but they don't work. in mc9 all looks good but when i post it not good. so i just learned to chain on center and filter. and all works very well
  7. eric most of the time i am cutting letters for a sign and to save material i nest all chains really close together to save material. the way i do it has become so easy. i have my back plot set to save on layer 250 and all i have to do is hit the button to save geometry and back plot and then erase original, nest new geometry, and the make new tool path that does not cross over already cut parts. just in case one of them decided to flip up and snap my nozzle. large signs take 15-20 mins and they are ready to cut. since i started running these water jets have learned so many short cuts that are great but that i would never have learned running a mill or lathe
  8. Forgot to mention turn filter on. been long weeeeek
  9. The fastest way i do it is window your chains and do a contour tool path with no cutter comp so your tool is on center of your chains. then back plot and save geometry to another layer. delete rapid moves and your done. I do this hundreds of time a week for my waterjets when i get customer files for signs
  10. I have one that i made by coping it with rast to vec conversion. will email it to you
  11. Hi everyone the bosses wife has a project that i need to do for her. she would like a Welch dragon cut out of brass. the problem i am having is finding a nice picture or cad file of a nice welch dragon like is on the Welch flag. I need some. You people on here have always seemed to be able to help find stuff like this before. I dont know where you all find it or if you just have all this kind of stuff just sitting on your puters but this forum is the best search program going. tia
  12. I have also been having problems with drag. when i drag and translate all is fine. but when i drag and rotate if my chains have arcs and lines it ends up breaking my chains. i zoom in on the intersection and the 2 ends are no longer same point. some times 5 thou out. doesn't matter if i creat geo or i import from customer supplied. I am using router. have not tried it in mill.
  13. At my last job i translated programs and set up and tuned the process for machining the slides on a SIG p229 9mm hand gun. Before i left i was starting to reprogram the part in MC. I had to start from scratch and reverse engineer the whole part. The only drawings we had we on paper and not the latest rev either Had to go by the actual part and the dims we were checking them too in most cases. It was a very nice fun project at the time. The parts are still being run from the translated programs. I translated them from a YASNAK control on an old MATSURA to a FANUC control on a new MATSURA. And wouldn't you know it they had more options turned on then we did But got it running . If you would like i could e-mail the 3-d solid of the slide to you. not fully finished and not programmed but still nice to look at.
  14. i took the plunge and updates to winxp sp2 and no problems at all. I was a fraid because of all the warnings that mc would not work after the update. but no problems at all. thanks all for the help
  15. sorry i should have been more precise. I have not updated to winxp sp2 yet becasue of all the problems people have been having with it. But now i see that most of you have updated and it works ok. I was just wondering what you all had to do to get mc to work in winxp sp2. any setting you had to tweek or turn off. patches you might have had to install and anything you had to do for the mc to see the key thanks
  16. i did a search and could not find out how to get it to work. found lots of people with the problem but no remedies thanks
  17. threept8 pressure is adjustable but at lowwer pressure you have to go slower, faster= more money. and when you have 60000 pcs to make faster=less time=more money. peter laser would work faster and cheaper but then you have the burnt edges and a sharper burr that the customer does not want. these little parts are for a kids craft project here in town and they don't want the kids cutting their hands. and ottawa is doing ok these days. you should stop in someday and set me up with a free trial on trueshape nesting. trying to convince the boss to get it for me but you will need to do something better on the price. maybe bring out the special you had last fall and we will go for it.
  18. threept82 laminate will not work. when i cut it with the waterjet you get delamination and makes for very big mess. 60000 psi will do that. surface i looked at mcmaster.com and looks promissing. sent them an email for more info and waiting to see what they say. I would still need aprox. 20 48" x 100' rolls for the whole order but much better than 10000 sheets for just 1/4 of the order
  19. Hi all I am looking for some help. I have a client looking to get some animal shapes cut out of 0.005 aluminum embossing foil. Cutting is not a problem for me have a shop full of waterjets. It is finding matterial I am having hard time with. Can anyone in here help a guy out? I can't even find anything on Google. This order would be for a kids program at one of the kids museums in town. They used to have volunters cutting them out with scissors and now they can't get anyone to help out. they were buying the foil in 9" x 14" sheets, i would need 10000 sheets and allot more handling that way. Thanks
  20. Hi have cut lots of corian and allways balls to the wall. 15000 rpm with a 3/4" 4fl solid carbide em and 300+ ipm. 1/2" deep pockets 5 or 6" dia. we were making counter tops for a security firm here in town, they mounted a magnetic card reader in the pocket and then we engraved on top surface. no coolant just blasted air from air gun. block off or drain coolant tank. chips are not chips but dust that looks like chips. just touch them and they crumble. makes a very nice mess when mixed with water.
  21. you could try armox 400t or algotuf 400 both should be fairly close toy what you are looking for
  22. Hi all i have a big job ahead of me. I need to compile a book of all the different logos and graphic file we have. i have apprx. 5000 files in 250 dir. what i want to do is merge all file in same dir. into 1 file but keeping all files on different levels. drawing 1 on level 1, drawing 2 level 2, and so on. is there any way of doing this automatically or do i have to go into each drawing and save it to the different level first then merge all files? of could one of you c-hook gurus whip something up to help. Any and all help in this matter would same me hours and hours of work
  23. Hi there we just ran a batch of formica 2 weeks ago and nothing we did could stop blow out on the back side. we tried low presure piercing first and cutting holes after. we tried clamping a backing board to it and same thing. If you figure something out let me know. our customer is still looking for a solution
  24. I think i have a bug in my router software. If i use drag and translate all is fine and dandy. but if i use drag and rotate my chains no longer are one piece after i drop them in place. Happens all the time when there are arcs in the chain and most of the time when just lines. doesn't matter if i create geometry or import from other source. If i use xform and rotate all is good. but sometimes i have to nest my parts and it is much easier to drag and rotate as needed. I need help. I just nested well over 300 chains in one large program that i had to cut out of 1" alum. and 90% of them had to be re-trimed. there was 26 hrs total cutting time..and all parts were created in ACAD and imported into MCAD. I am using latest version of router on maintenance. Bob Ouellette Hydrotech Cutting [email protected]
  25. On our matsura h450 horizontals we could load all the subs in the control and dnc the main and run like that all the time. we had one program that we had to do it on. it was 4 parts on a single tombstone and the program was too large even for our add in memory cards which were 64 meg. the company didn't want to buy new ones. the subs were to rotate tombstone for next part and it would loop the main. when pallet was done it would pallet change and start all over again. we didn't use cimco it was max dnc for 40 machines. when we did that we had to make sure no one else was sending or recieving programs at same time. computer would slooooooow down too much. not fun. it would just slow down the dnc for my machine and the control would starve for info and wait for next code. bob
